What are we watching now?

Severance is solid, too.
Watched an episode or two of this and liked it but also felt like it could end up being one of those shows where they had an initial premise but not the full scope of how the premise came to be in the form of a good backstory?
He is really good in Shrinking as a very non-Ford character.
This is good to know. We watched Ted Lasso and loved it and watched a season or two of the Reese Witherspoon thing which was OK generally speaking? Tried Slow Horses and it was definitely a match for it's title.

Morning Show? The mere thought of watching something with Jennifer Aniston triggers my gag reflex so I have not seen any of that one yet.

Still too early to tell where Severence is going, but I hear you...ever since Lost I am on guard for that BS.
She's ok in it. Reese is good as well. It's quite a bit lighter fare than I normally gravitate to but it was good. I am surprisingly easily Steve Carrell-fatigued more than anything else?

I loved the first Season, but as it came to a close I got the sense that they were running out of runway, and about to start making things up as they went along. Sure enough, Season 2 was batshit crazy arbitrary and made me feel like I was wasting my time.

Or maybe I'm just not as smart as I think I am. :D

And then I hit this post. Yes, you called it. I could live with the absence of a backstory (near future technology + economic demand = profit) but there's also no apparent end game for this show.

I hate dumping on Severance because IMO it's legit profound/ "important" for the first handful of episodes. I'd encourage folks to watch the first season... and then consider just walking away if you can. :D

When the second season dropped I tried to watch the 1st episode and was like "uh, I really need to go rewatch first season to make heads or tails of what's going on?" but eventually decided maybe it wasn't so much forgetting what happened in season 1 as it was "they really didn't think there was going to be a season 2 did they?"

While we are on an AppleTV kick -- the Murderbot novellas/novels were SO.GOOD. The show...I dunno how I'd take it if I hadn't read the books. MAYBE short lighthearted campy fun? Not at all how I read the books.
