What are we watching now?

* disclaimer: this is not what I'm watching right now... :rofl

It's her turn with s show and we're watching Watson.

Sherlock Holmes has died and Watson returns to practicing medicine, using the detective skills he learnt.

So basically House, but on the nose. And without the wit. Certified garbage.

The American Petroleum Institute's propaganda show is starting to sound tempting. But I hated Yellowstone, so not getting my hopes up.

Saw a couple trailers for Watson and it's a hard pass for me.

Watson = recycled garbage done very poorly. I think they were just trying to follow multiple formulas and any worthwhile creativity was pushed to the side.

Even the music hints at the Beeb show. Which hints at the Guy Ritchie movie.

Cimbaloms and shit.

I just watched The Diplomat and really enjoyed it. Lots of "spin" goes on behind the scenes in our governments, which I think was probably portrayed fairly accurately. Great flick for someone like me who likes good dramas.
I binged this one over the course of the past week or two, and I enjoyed it as well. It's intermittently silly and occasionally implausible; but for the most part it's smart and entertaining.

Watching The Lowdown on Disney. Pretty decent, Ethan Hawke is great and a fantastic cameo from Peter Dinklage.
Great show! S2 is on the books. Interested to see what happens with it!

Watched a few things over the weekend. The Long Walk. Another Stephen King (Bachman) adaptation. Quite enjoyable. Mark Hammill playing a serious version of his Joker schtick. King definitely made an early career out of coming of age/friendship stories and this is another flavor of that. Much better than I expected it to be. Phillip Seymour Hoffmann's kid is in it and did great as did most of the rest of the cast.

Started up His and Hers on Netflix. Jon Bernthal is a detective hunting down what could be a serial killer. Fast watch with some good soap opera dramatics mixed in with good thriller vibes. Annoying group of female characters to a point where you wonder why the guys just didn't go the monastery route instead but I digress  6 episodes so it gets going and gets to the point and I like that. 1 episode left and definitely looking how it wraps up.

Watched a 70's thriller I had never seen. Capricorn One. A group of astronauts is supposed to go to Mars but things go sideways and they have to go into hiding as the government decides to fake the landing. James Brolin, OJ and a bunch of other known 70s talents star. Got this recommendation from some YT AI channel "You've never seen this little know 70's thriller!" vid and was definitely pleased. It's not perfect but very much enjoyed it nonetheless \m/
Watched Capricorn One today. Good flick!

Finished up His & Hers last night. GREAT watch. Quick 6 episode run. Be interesting to see a tight film edit as well. Thrillers are one of my favorite genres and this did not disappoint.

Yes I knew there was still something coming down the pike with 30 minutes left. It was a good twist I think? 6 episodes is the sweet spot!
Yes I thought it was a good twist! They employed the red herring twist to try and throw us off! We were thinking the same thing when the first 20 minutes of that last episode resolved so quickly.

Watched Dust Bunny last night. Bryan Fuller flick (Hannibal) with Mads Mickelson and Sigourney Weaver. Also stars a young actress who I have never seen before but does fantastic as the main character. Awesome visuals, modern fairy tale vibe that still somehow stays grounded in reality. I've been looking forward to this one for a bit and it did not disappoint. Kind of reminded me of a more grown up Coraline vibe but live action? And not feeling like i was watching a "kid's movie"? Great film.
