Watched the season finale of Welcome to Derry last night. Oddly enough; lead up to it watching the documentary on the making of the 1990 miniseries. One of the big things in that was the fact that they had to condense the book down to get to an ending and then having the budget for practical effects as well as ability to craft something do-able within all those guidelines. Generally speaking; you could tell there was some disappointment given how fantastic the book was compared to what you could create in reality.

All of this to say that the last episode last night was superb because they had the budget and they had the CGI ability to pull off something really spectacular. On top of being able to have the story and some excellent acting behind it to make you really feel that ending. Great episode and overall, great series that took some pretty big swings in an established mythos that paid off quite nicely I'd say.

I watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation over the weekend and
laughed out loud in the privacy of my own home. So. Freaking. Hilarious.


I needed some Yuks in my life. Way more than enough Tragedy and Horror in
real life these days. Good for the soul it twas!

Watched it over the weekend. It was generally good. Benoit Blanc was much less annoying than he was in the last one with the XETREME Foghorn Leghorn impersonation and the story didn't have the "annoying influencers stuck in an island paradise" thing from the last go round.

Started (and then binged quite a bit of) Season 1 of Castle Rock on NetFlix. Completely random; I wasn't expecting much. I've been kind of anti-Stephen King since stubbornly reading all 1200 volumes of The Dark Tower series and losing count of the sharks jumped. But this show has me pretty hooked. I'm not sure whether King actually wrote any of it, but I've generally found that he's better at starting things than finishing them. It will be interesting to see where Seaon 2 winds up.
