What are we watching now?

As my, "watching in the background during work" show, I just started streaming the old classic Boston Legal.

I hadn't seen it since it aired, and it still holds up, Funny AF. Also, Julie Bowen :love
LOVE BL!! "I keep an exceptionally clean penis."

Lotta "talent" on that show! Rhona Mitra :clint

I like zombies. But I don't want drama in my zombies. Ugh.
Pretty much all zombie movies/series are really about the drama surrounding the people trying to avoid the zombies.

I recommend giving The Last of Us a chance for at least a few more episodes.

I watched S1. That was more than enough

Went to 'Sinners' yesterday. Good flick. Excellent period piece that did a swift little change up. Excellent performances by Michael B. Jordan as well as the female lead who's name escapes me. Delroy Lindo was great as well and always has me wishing he'd be in more stuff.

I thought it was going to be a musical and was NOT looking forward to that aspect but instead it used the score as well as performances in the movie as a narrative motif to facilitate the story. Very well done \m/

Just finished Surface with the wife. Just good enough that we kept watching but barely. Apple TV is our only current subscription, and I am thinking about cancelling that for the summer and then picking up one of the services again in the fall.

We started “The Residence”, (not to be confused with The Resident). Another Shonda jawn, VERY good/funny.

I’m not sure if it’s my attention span/patience level, or this is actually true, but I feel like this is another one that could be wrapped up with fewer episodes. We’re currently on episode 6, it runs for 8.

I liked it quite a bit but it got a little too "zany"/overcomplicated imo.

Started Resident Alien...seems fun based on a few episodes! Alan Tudyk is always a joy to watch.

Started the new season of Black Mirror, it’s not pulling me in as much as previous seasons have. I got about 10 minutes into “Hotel Reverie” when I just left the living room because that movie producer woman was overacting in every scene and once the plot was underway it only took a couple minutes before I nope’d out. It’s like they got someone creative to come up with an overall idea then had some hacks write the script/screenplay and it was devolving by the second.

We watched the first episode and the one that was an extension of that 'Choose Your Own Adventure' thing they did a ways back. It's fine but I'm also glad you can flip around and watch whatever episode you want since they are one and done each time.

Heard some things on this week's Last of Us. Basically; take white walkers at 28 Days Later speed, blend with TWD Neegan's first impactful appearance starter kit and add insufferable character with terrible acting and you have this episode. Fucking dreadful emotion pandering with absolute shit level of originality. This show fucking sucks, confirmed.

I think I'm done "giving it a shot" :wat:bonk:rofl

Try giving it a shot in the head next. Maybe the show will get better then.

Started watching The Residence last night

X-Men 97...I had no idea it was a "reboot" continuation
Yellowstone
re-watching Gossip Girl original series
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (better than expected)

Finishing the first Daredevil series which got so bad we quit

Rick And Morty...at the pickle episode we couldn't keep going with the OTT violence

I feel like the "AI Bot Thriller" genre is getting pretty played out already, but I thought "The Companion" was pretty good, I've pretty much liked everything I've seen Sophie Thatcher in to date

I thought this season fell a bit flat. I liked Common People, Bete Noire, and Plaything a lot, but the rest of the episodes... meh. Especially eulogy.. that was possibly the most dull Black Mirror episode to date

Watched first episode of Last of Us much to my own chagrin. Ellie is a godawful character (not sure how she is in the game but she is insufferable in the show) and Pedro Pascal should really stop being in everything. Ugh. Also; the Walking Dead Zombie Horror Starter Kit is fucking such a snoozefest route to take.
I was a fan of the games, and I loved the first season of this show, but so far I have to agree with you: Ellie is unlikeable, self-centered, quick to put other people's lives in jeopardy for no good reason, etc. I don't recall her being this way in any of the in-game content. The actor (I can't keep track of whether I'm allowed to say "actress" anymore) doesn't look the part at all, and her appearance is so distinctive that it becomes a distraction.

Zombies are so 2010. (But Last of Us is probably the best zombie-themed franchise you'll find.)

She could probably be good in something? I am TIRED of drama in zombie horror. I want HORROR for god's sakes! She is insufferable and visually distracting to a fault. There's that humpty meme thing about here and they are not kidding :rofl

First I'm hearing of this one.
