What are we watching now?

Finished up The Companion last night. Overall; great watch. I thought it was going to be more mopey/introspective/thoughtful than what it was for some reason and I am here for being pleasantly surprised. Am I the only one who thinks Jack Quaid looks like the product of Beavis DNA getting mixed in with his parents?

She could probably be good in something? I am TIRED of drama in zombie horror. I want HORROR for god's sakes! She is insufferable and visually distracting to a fault. There's that humpty meme thing about here and they are not kidding :rofl
:rofl :somean

You won't be surprised to hear that I had to Google "last of us humpty meme". I had no idea that was a thing. I thought "distinctive" was a little more gracious LOL.

As for drama in zombie horror... I'm not going to watch more than 15 minutes of anything unless there's drama. If I just want to see zombies take their requisite headshots, I'll pick up a PlayStation controller and do it myself. (This is not to suggest that there isn't good drama and bad drama, however...)

I don't even know what you call it; she just had a humpty dumpty vibe :sofa:rofl

I do enjoy drama and tension building in a film or series. Certainly. But the way TWD started that trend in the recent times influenced The Last of Us to a hugely negative degree. Dawn of the Dead remake by Zack Snider is more my style :satan

I thought this season fell a bit flat. I liked Common People, Bete Noire, and Plaything a lot, but the rest of the episodes... meh. Especially eulogy.. that was possibly the most dull Black Mirror episode to date
I'm a few episodes into it, and I think this is my favorite season so far. We've been watching them out of order because Netflix did that stupid thing it sometimes does (yeah, I'm looking at you, Hip Hop Evolution...)

And Eulogy is actually my favorite so far, easily. Not the typical grim popcorn fare that Black Mirror usually serves up (NTTAWT); more measured and poignant. I thought Paul Giamatti was brilliant.

I saw Giamatti in the thumbnail and wondered how that episode would be.

All these AI bot movies always have way to much build up and drama before the character inevitably bangs the robot. With the companion they made that the background/premise so there was finally room for an actual plot to develop beyond that :rofl

Sappy and sentimental is not how I want my black mirror

"Bang the Robot" is the name of my next band, for sure. :D

Such a turd of a character. I hope the video game was better (but I am betting it wasn't)
She was actually a sweet kid in the game (as far as I can recall.) The game itself was very good... but stressful to a fault. The sound of the "clickers", oy.
