What are we watching now?

Finished up School Spirits. Good adolescent supernatural thing. Much better than I would normally expect. Plowing through Schitt's and laughing my head off as well. Watched the first episode of DTF St Louis last night. Different than I expected but interested to see how it shakes out over the full season.

Watched the first 3 of the new Scrubs. Was a big fan back in the day, and so far it has delivered what I'd expect from it. JD has aged loads whilst Carla and Turk look almost the same 😂

Finished 56 days on Saturday, definitely cool, gives you the happy ending.

We watched "Friends Like These, the murder of Skylar Neese" on Hulu, my god, so heartbreaking.

Started some new Amazon series with Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis. Scarpetta? Police serial killer procedural. In theory; should be right up my alley. I will say that Jamie Lee Curtis has this relatively new thing where every character she plays in any sort of family dynamic setting is 1000% obnoxious and this is in that same vein for sure. I'll probably keep digging in and seeing how it goes

Danhausen's YouTube, Botchamania (JEEEZUS!), and AEW/NJPW, because fack da WWE! SHEIKY BABY put dem in de camel clutch, break they back, and humble dem.

"Entitled" on Netflix. Meh. You can practically smell the producers sitting in a board room saying, "old English money, let's get suuuuuuuuuuuuper quirky lolz". Brett Gelman is all too successful in his portrayal of a person with less than zero charisma. The series flits between different modes, genres, and implications of various plot points, and then tries to wrap everything up with a Scooby Doo-style "practical" explanation that leaves half the threads hanging and/or contradicting one another. Zoinks.

Limited series; not limited enough.

Watched Man On the Run last night on Prime. Basically, Paul's time after the Beatles. He narrates the whole time with sound bites from Linda and the different Wings' members and few from Lennon too. Pretty interesting overall, a bit quirky too. Worth a watch if you're into McCartney.

Jinkies!

Finished up the Scarpetta thing on Prime. Um; some seriously dumb sidetracks and JLC annoyance aside; it was solid. Might watch S2 if it ever shows up; might not.

Watched Crime 101. Flick starring Thor dude. Plays a jewel thief who gets wrapped up in personal stuff that intersects with his professional life. Great crime flick, generic title and premise notwithstanding. He should star in more non-Marvel content.

We started watching Homicide: Life On The Street (1993)...through a VPN via the Australian SBS channel! This show seems really hard to get over here in Finland, with mainly Region 1 DVDs available online, or the full 7 season set in Region 2 is several hundred euros.

The series is so far (season 1) very good. Lots of same vibes as The Wire, with some of the same actors too.
