There's a lot of preamp in the tone of an OG5150 or 6505..... but to my ears they are
not as preampy as the 5153s. Some like that preamp oon steroids vibe and sizzle their
bacon to a nice crispy. I like crispy bacon, too. I just tend to prefer the slightly offset
sizzle of them OG variants.

I've owned several 5153's and the only one I liked was the OG 50-watter. The EL34 Stealth 100-watter I had was shrill and lacked the beans.

I’ve heard mixed takes on the el34 versions. I have the updated regular 50 watt with concentric knobs
