Video Games

Played a crapload of Ghost of Yotei over the weekend and am really enjoying it.

Like the first game, I'm still not a massive fan of the "on rails" feeling of the overall gameplay, but the atmosphere and vibes are stellar. Pure cinema

Getting the last oil was pretty much the first thing I did in act 3 but
the flea games were crazy hard at first. I kind of felt like they were programmed to get easier the more you failed :roflMy final tries felt like the game was just feeling sorry for me

I also visited the
abyss and got my first heart from the coral tower. The pile of gauntlets was annoying but manageable but the boss was one of the best in the game IMO

I'm slowly working through Act 3 completion...

I had already found the Coral Tower in Act 2 but I hadn't found the other two as you need the super jump to get there. That's probably going to take a few days to get all the hearts. I still need to get all the mask shards and updates and everything too.

I bet at the end of the day I'll have 70+ hours to get 100% (if I can achieve that). Crazy how much bigger this game is compared to HK.

I'm already at well over 70 hours!

I found the coral tower while just exploring as well, and wondered what's up with the dead dude. Now I'm stuck at the singing lady. Great boss fight but she can take just a little too much damage. Frustration is creeping in.

Oh one other thing, I've been playing a lot more with the Hunter crest. It's got a lot more damage than the Reaper and longer hit length than the Wanderer. The diagonal pogo is definitely an adjustment though and I have to swap back for complex platforming. But with full needle upgrades and the Hunter you can one shot a lot of the weaker enemies which is nice.

I picked up Castlevania: Symphony of The Night for Android. I've never played the console version.

Terrible on-screen controls even on a tablet or foldable. Controller is an absolute must.

But damn, it's a hard game!

Yeah, at least they give you a shortcut before the boss :rofl Singing lady is having me consider quitting the game

Just beat her.

I ended up switching crests again and got through all the heart bosses with the Wanderer crest. Range is really short but attack time is super fast. You can spam hits really easily if you're in close. I'm up to nine masks now so I can tank a bit, and then I have the power ups to regen silk when taking damage and heal four masks at once.

I'll probably return to her soon because I just have to beat the game

I tend to stick to things I like and I'm just attached to the crest with the heavy downward slash, which is good for pogoing. Of course there's not as much need for pogo later in the game, so I might as well try switching

Hell yeah, singing lady is dead!

I took your advice and switched to wanderer and after getting used to it, I was fighting like a pro! Why did I sleep on this crest? You can get 2-3 hits while the one I used could maybe do one hit in the same time. And it has a downward slash!

I know! After swapping to that crest I kind of breezed through every other boss I’ve fought.

At this point I have full masks, full nail, and nearly all the tools and upgrades. Once I hit 100% I’ll finish the game and then I can start watching videos with spoilers!

I won't bother with 100% :rofl I'll be happy if I can finish the game

I’ll go for 100% but not sure I’ll be able to do all achievements. Especially if steel soul mode is one of them. I can’t imagine beating the game without dying, although I did beat hollow knight that way.

If you get the far sight tool you can assemble it in your house in the bell town, then see your completion and anything missing. That seems to help.

I did get farsight and it made me realize how much I'm missing

Has anyone checked out Borderlands 4?

I was addicted to the first 2 installments, but I never played v3,van 4 was recently released.

Is it more of the same, or something new worthy of reigniting my obsession for chasing the next cool weapon?
:facepalm

The final boss is kicking my ass and I'm feeling exhausted. This might end up like Bloodborne and Elden Ring DLC final bosses where it's just too much and I'll never beat them.

Same. I actually got to phase 3 after only a few fights but only have made it deep in phase 3 one time. But I'm feeling less discouraged than I did on some of the early bosses. It's a matter of time and experimentation to figure it out and maybe a bit of luck.

It's funny you and I have been progressing through the entire game at the same rate lol

What's killing me is phase 2 & phase 3, Lace will summon multiple environment attacks and then do a physical attack. But I can't see what's happening because all of the attacks are black so I have to guess where to go.

I did mess around with all the crests and Reaper seems the way to go here. The longer attack helps where with Wanderer I keep dashing into her and taking damage.
