Video Games

Yeah the game has some really annoying spikes in difficulty just when you feel like you've gotten the hang of the game. I'm not quite sure at what point you can enter the DLC, but I'd probably give it a try and nope out if it feels too difficult for your current level. Maybe you can collect a DLC weapon or two to make things more exciting.
I've become a pretty huge fan of this game, so realistically, I'm sure to get through the DLC. I might just need a break after binging my way through the base game. Maybe do something crazy, like play a little guitar. ;)

The first two bosses in the DLC gave me much more trouble than the few afterwards haha. Full steam ahead now and really enjoying it

In that case, you can probably stand by for my next online temper tantrum LOL.

What level is your character? I think I'm at 77 or 78 now. Re-spec felt like a bit of a set back. Who knows, I might even go back to Motivity at some point.

Can't remember off the top of my head but pretty sure i'm over 100 (playing in NG+)

I did find a cool new weapon just this morning before I left for work - gonna see if I can upgrade dat

I'm doomed LOL.

Yeah, I was saying DON'T complete the game so you can enter the DLC at base difficulty, unless you want to do it at NG+ difficulty

Yeah, it took me a minute (and a long-ass reply) but I did finally figure that out (and delete my long-ass reply.) :D

That has been my strategy all along. I would like to dive a lit bit further into the area behind Antonia's portrait, but I don't know how far I can go without screwing things up for myself.

It's been too long since I fully played through the base game - i don't remember ever hitting a point of no return but I also chose to forgive gepetto and murder everyone in the hotel lmao

You're a bad, bad puppet. ;)

I finally got to the first boss in Overture, and holy hell man; I see your point now. My overall impression is, "They really expect me to do this?" And then, "Why exactly would I want to?" (The answer to the second question, as with all boss fights, is "So I can play the game I :cuss paid for."

This battle also breaks several conventions that have gone with most or all of the preceding boss battles: no Specter (as in most battles), your Ergo drops on the battlefield instead of before it (as with with all other battles), and worst of all, your timepiece that typically lets you return to the last Stargazer with all of your Ergo intact is just mysteriously non-functional. That's just cheesy.

Best tip I can give regarding the croc is to fight him like a dark souls boss and forget about deflecting; roll everything and don't use the lock on

...the croc...
I've gotten to where I can consistently get him to half health. But he's aggressive non-stop (i.e. no time to reapply a grindstone or whatever), and every time he touches you it's half your health - even with the Iron Wall amulet.

I don't know if I should try respec'ing for Advance and bringing a weapon with some baked-in fire damage or what. Just want to get it over with without lowering the difficulty (because I'm a stickler about these things LOL.)

Gave up, put it in easy mode, killed the croc, put it back to Legendary Stalker mode. I've never resorted to this in any other video game ever, but JFC...

I've gone just a bit further into Overture, and I'm occasionally dipping back into the base game beyond where I'd left off, kind of playing in parallel. Observations: the base game is way easier than I remembered, sometimes almost too easy. (Familiarity is a big part of this, of course.) Overture is pretty well-measured in terms of difficulty. Excepting the Tyrannical Predator, who was just stupid and annoying and for me, as good as impossible. Level design in the base game is much, much more interesting than in Overture. The outdoor scenes (snow, etc.) in Overture were beautiful to look at, but the level design is very linear except where it seems very arbitrary. Maybe it will improve after this whole Jurassic Park schtick is over?

Finished Metro 2033, it was cool. Good story and I liked the difficulty settings and survival aspect. Should def be played on the games intended “survival” mode. Length was not long but i appreciate that in a first person shooter story.

Started up Metro Last light, seems better in every way and the story continues.

Currently playing Death Stranding.

Kinda abandoned this game before. Was thinking about just watching a recap and just getting 2, which everyone is saying is way better, but that just felt weak.

I've still never played DS1 but I do wanna try DS2 at some point. I got a few homies that have finished it and loved it

Shadow Labyrinth drops in like a week; quite interested in checking that out as well
