Finished Bloodborne on PC last night. Some crashes along the way, but otherwise worked mostly fine and is so much more fun at 60 fps and some quality of life mods. Still the best Souls game.

This game is high on my radar.

Looks very promising, but I'll reserve judgement until it's out. I've been amazed in recent years at how many variations on this genre simply don't work for me. Particularly amazed that Team Ninja has managed to miss twice in a row (between Wo Long and Rise of the Ronin) since absolutely blowing my socks off with the Nioh stuff.

Devil's in the details...

Rumours about a Bloodborne remake for the PS5 still bubbling away in the background, rumours of conflict between Sony Japan (who want it) and Sony USA (who don't) etc.

I'd like to have one fight against Vicar Amelia where the camera and effects allow me to see what's happening.

I don't miss the weapon repairs all the time.

How are the Chalice Dungwons on the PC? Surely they don't have all the Zullie and Elias one's available. I did a lot of Chalice Dungeon co-op with Zullie the Witch back when (just as a random, others did too).

I honestly could not be bothered with them this time. I've only played them for the bosses a few times and otherwise find them just so damn boring. If they ever do a remake, that's the one thing I wish was not faithful to the original.

Started Resident Evil 4 Remake and I'm really liking it. I had a rough time at the start getting used to how the game plays after playing Silent Hill 2 right before this, but now I feel like I'm getting the hang of it.

It also makes SH2 feel like its developers are incompetent. RE4R runs at a constant 100-120 fps at native 4K on my system, yet SH2 would struggle to hit even 60 fps with regular stutters while not looking really any better.

From the other side of the alligator-fire-dude I made it to Alta Plateau. After avoiding the HOLY SHIT THERE IS A DRAGON on this hill, I was able to torrent around and open a bunch of graces and find the map. This was the point I started thinking I don’t know if I’ll be able to beat this. The map is friggin huge, I haven’t unlocked all of it, and I’ve only beaten one major boss. This is going to be rough. lol

Side note, every time I scrounge together 5-6k I die somewhere that I can’t go back and get my loot. (At least not easily) I can’t friggin level up because I keep finding new cool areas (which generally means more deadly) and can’t survive long enough to save the 15k I need per level. I need to find the equivalent of the solider/caravan grind at Elleh, but on the other side of the map and for 2-3 the $ to offset the lvl cost increase.

From the grace past where the dragon attacked in Altus Plateau, you're a short run away from where you can pick up the physick tear that stops rune loss

Sounds like it could be useful for you hahah

I can post a map photo of where it is if you'd like

All good. I find the game too short without them, and liked the atmosphere of Loren and Isz. Many above ground Bosses are optional, especially in NG+. My favourite Bosses are the Fire Dog and Amagdala in the Cursed/Definled one.

Alrighty so I've finally given Elden Ring it's longest playtime (about 6 hours I would say) and I'm actually having fun 😀

Still very much in the beginning stages and dumping all my levels into Vigor so it feels a little more forgiving. Almost have all of Limgrave explored and just finished up Castle Morne. If you look back at my earlier comments, I even beat the terrifying dragon on the lake with ease 😂

It's really satisfying going from "these damn guards keep killing me" to beating bosses and dragons.

Anyway, I hope I stick with it, I'm just worried I'll burnout as I know it is a very long game and I'm sure gets more frustrating as you move on.

Should I keep dumping levels into Vigor? I think I'm at 31 Vigor at this point

It very much depends on what weapons etc you enjoy. Vigor for every class/build is always a good option, especially to start with. If you survive longer you learn more. Once you start having fun, get special weapons and doing tricks instead of grinding survival it changes. The Bloodhound Fang and Grafted Greatsword (from Morne) can get you through the game, but I'm having fun with Maliketh's Black Blade atm. Way later.

For "noobs" I always recommend Strength, because when you two-hand a weapon you get an extra bonus for Strength that nothing else has. Incantations are better than Sorceries in ER, imho. Arcane is for Bleed weapons. But they nerfed Rivers of Blood so you'll never get the full effect and joy of the Corpse Piler skill.

After nearly 3 years of playing it, with digressions to Lords of the Fallen and couple of other games, and I'm still finding combinations of weapons and the rest to explore. I also have level-capped builds at 55, 75, 150 and above that are in the DLC and end-game for co-op with others. My level 17 hasn't got that far.

That reminds me, I have a Messmer to kill and need to get down to the base of the Halligtree with my 222 build...

Getting further in Resident Evil 4 Remake. I now understand why many players hate Ashley in the original or the remake. She's just constantly getting grabbed or stunned which is a pain in the ass.

This game really needs a dodge button. It technically has one, but you can only use it in select situations and have to either stay away or parry with the knife.

It is also annoyingly skimping on ammo and I feel like I have barely enough in all my weapons.

And it's worth mentioning that 40 is a stopping point throughout the whole game, so it's not necessary to pump all your points into that right at the start. Just enough so you don't die all the time.
TOO LATE. but yeah strength will be a focus now

Recommended Vigor (PvP streamers call it "failing the Vigor test" - see Only Waifu or Fighting Cowboy etc) is 60.

Soft Cap is 40, Hard is 60 for most stats. If you feel the game is hard now, wait for Halligtree, Farum and the DLC. Everything hits like a truck, especially for new players.

My level 55 obviously has less Vigor than that, and is in all the above areas - hiding, sneaking, running or getting co-op assistance. Most basic enemies can 1-shot me. Buy I've been playing it for 3 years and been a Soulsborne nut since Demon's. My level 17 hasn't, and I feel the shame on the the Group I am in. Several are level 11 in New Game 7+. Base Game Radahn next...

If you want to learn the hard way, take the recommendation of Josh Feed and do a daggers-only build for the entire thing with 40 Vigor. You really learn how to roll, dodge and jump as well as timing your attacks.

I seem to recall stuffing her into the carry-case for awhile she was so annoying.
