Yeah I had to do that as well. I ended up beating them on my first try after I looked up the tips. I hate using tools so it's weird whenever I have to use them.

I like using the tools but the mechanic for replenishing them is the worst. If you run out of the shard things you need to go grind for them before trying again. It's just a waste of time. Similar to Sekiro in that it discourages the use of tools.

I finally got the second pale oil, boy that was a pain. I remembered the strat for the delicate flower from HK so it only took 3-4 runs but still stressful lol

Soul is super OP especially with upgrades. It's painful watching newbie runs sometimes because they try to nail attack bosses exclusively but at base power magic attacks are 3x stronger.

What I really like about soul magic is you have to balance power attacks against healing. With tools it's a different economy. I dunno, it's a lot less elegant I suppose.

That and pressing down + R, especially when I'm clinging to a wall. Ugh. It's almost easier to just get more precise with the movement and attacks.

This x100. The control scheme sucks IMO, and had a lot to do with my quitting.

The range of positions (angles) that register as “up” or “down” should be increased IMO. I finally decided, even if I eventually get good enough at this game, I’m not convinced my controller ever will be.

Playing Assassin’s Creed Shadows, I haven’t had this much fun since Odyssey and I think this game is better than that one.

Same - I couldn’t get past the first third of Valhalla. The story is very engaging in Shadows already, and the gameplay kinda reminds me if Ghost of Tsushima

Yotei is absolutely my most anticipated game this year. I plan to fully devour it.

Unsure whether to buy ghost of yotei. Seems like it's very iterative. That said, ghost of Tsushima was one of my favorite games ever.

It does have some sections like sliding on the rooftop where you see a lot of detail. I trust that Insomniac will make it look great, just like the Spider-Man games.
