It feels like 2017 again!!!
There’s room reverb which is pretty high quality but it’s still a heavy handed room verb
And yeah not even a tuner. At one point I had a tuner, and tubescreamer plugin before the Lion plugin, and then I was loading an IR, EQ and Delay after…. It really exposed how limited it was. It’s inevitable they’ll do a modeller and I’m sure it’ll be amazing…. Until then the public will probably be sold every component one by one before we can buy it all again inside of a single unit
I’ve only used the Lion so far and I think it’s high quality stuff but there’s definitely some stuff lacking compared to the competition (especially with the asking price)
The 5150 is my go gain thing right nowI’ve had about an hour with Lion and it feels like they’ve modelled some good mojo there. It’s doing the thing where there’s a bunch of nuances that feel more amp like and less sim like than 95% of the competition. It’s not the ultimate amp sound for me but if you said it was some new fancy modelling tech I’d believe it, just feels top tier.
Not sure if the recto and evh ones have as much love into it but if they do then they’ll be great
I need more time with the Lion but it feels great, like there’s somehow more of an amp feel compared to other sims. The end result sound is still a plexi so not my ideal amp sound. If the 5150 and recto are as good modelling as the Lion then that’ll be perfectThe 5150 is my go gain thing right now
What interface are you using?I need more time with the Lion but it feels great, like there’s somehow more of an amp feel compared to other sims. The end result sound is still a plexi so not my ideal amp sound. If the 5150 and recto are as good modelling as the Lion then that’ll be perfect
That is correct.Boomer amps?!? Really? That makes 90% of the most popular guitars on the market today boomer guitars as well...
.
dangerous watching this. I like the fenders in other software packages, but this looks way nicer and more authentic to use. No dealing with the bloat of Amplitube, or Helix needing several steps to dial up a tone (with a generic GUI).
I've been subscribed to Spark for a while and I feel I get a lot for the money. I don't subscribe to any streaming services at all, so I can tolerate it... :)They often do 3 month spark subs for peanuts ($1). Also spark annual I’ve seen at times for $99. If they keep adding these amps and you use their other mixing plugins then the sub starts to look pretty decent at the right price
UAD Spark
UAD Spark gives you a collection of iconic analog hardware and instrument plug-ins for a low monthly subscription price.spark.uaudio.com
The catch is the recurring payment, but that's it. Soooo many good plugins in there now!Hold the phone. $99 a year and you get all UAD plugins?
What’s the catch?
It's all the ones that have been ported to the "you don't need UA hardware" format, which I don't think is yet all of them? Haven't checked the list in ages so maybe it is now.Hold the phone. $99 a year and you get all UAD plugins?

Yeah plenty more that's not been ported yet, but I don't really miss anything now. It's all the ones that have been ported to the "you don't need UA hardware" format, which I don't think is yet all of them? Haven't checked the list in ages so maybe it is now.
