UAFX Enigmatic

Tackar!
:rofl

Hahaha! Will do!

"I can report that the Enigmatic is definitely a step up from my Walrus ASC1 which it replaces. What stands out as much better is how it takes boost pedals (Walru's approach to that was sort of "no thanks") and the very elusive thing called game feel. The sound itself is slightly better but with greater variation. But if you like variety, there are much better alternatives. A bit disturbing that there are no switches for certain functions such as bright cap.

Will keep it."

Dude. We’re so close to the Universal Translator from Star Trek. Imagine your phone’s mic picking up a person talking to you in a foreign language, and sending the translated words to your AirPods.
This already exists.

I had something more difficult to explain at a shop in Japan and found my Japanese skills just didn't cut it.

I pulled out my Samsung phone and used its Interpretator mode that uses machine learning. It shows you a split screen where one side is facing the person you are talking to, and the other towards you. You talk into the phone mic, and it interprets and then translates what you said to the chosen language in both text and speech. So I went English -> Japanese, then the other person spoke Japanese -> English. It's not seamless yet, but it worked well.

In a few years I could see something like this being close to real time speed. But instead of ST universal translator, I want Hitchhiker's Guide's Babelfish!

I couldn’t make it through that book. I just don’t get the appeal.
