Two-pedal pedalboard

Hi!

If you could only have a pedalboard consisting of 2 pedals, which ones would you choose?

Mine would have
1. Boss TU-3 (Tuner and buffer)
2. EHX Spruce goose (OD with 2 band EQ)

If we ignore the obvious "slap two HX Stomps on it! " answers, and ignore having a tuner, then the two pedals I would choose would be:

Strymon Volante. It's a super vesatile delay with modulation, with a spring reverb. That already covers most of my fx needs.

Strymon Compadre. It's a compressor and a simple boost/overdrive. The 3-way EQ switch on the boost is enough to cover "more gain on what I have" and "shape the signal like a Tube Screamer or treble booster". There's a fiddly boost/overdrive switch in the back to change what this side does.

If we’re going with programmable stuff I’d swap out the Belle Epoch for the Fractal VP4.

Alright, if we can't have programmable pedals I'd be fine with these 2, as long as the amp had reverb.

JHS AT+ and Strymon El Cap. The JHS is pretty versatile and the boost side is nice on its own. And the El Cap can bridge the gap between digital and analog delay but has lots of its own character.

Thankfully I have those two. I go back and forth on the Rat, almost a love/hate (more love) thing. Sometimes a bit of extra EQ shaping with a Rat goes a long ways.

I’ve gigged with both of these pedalboards before:

This one I used a lot going into an AC30 with some Indy rock bands

And this one I used into a Pro Junior cranked into a 2x12 for some classic rock cover gigs:
