Yup, just stopping by this thread to say it has THE dumbest IEC connection of any amp ever......except perhaps the IIC+ reissue. Seriously, they should have just made this amp a 23" chassis. SO dumb.

Just checking in to say my Mark VII is giving me the greatest tones I've ever had, on all three channels. It just blew me away last night at band practice through my Mesa Trad 4x12 w/V30s. Crunch, Clean, and IIB for pushed/gritty clean. Whether I've got the VP4 in the loop, or now the HXFX, the VII sounds incredible and the midi control is.

Yeah it’s definitely a kickass amp. Loved the VII mode and IIB mode a lot, actually. Wasn’t expecting that.
I’d be willing to extend this sentiment to add that IMO the IIB is probably the most under appreciated of the Marks. The IIB and III are kind of the red-headed step children at times, but they sound and feel incredible.I've said it before, but the IIB was the surprise homerun with this amp, for me. Really great sounding and feeling gritty clean/low gain crunch, just love it. Amazing for Stonesy stuff or Hendrix on a neck pickup, or Campbell/Petty twangy/roots sounds on the bridge.
Hold up... is that IEC connection even FURTHER to the front of the amp than it is on the MKV ??????
It’s pretty much in the middle, right next to a giant tranny. So unless you’ve got baby hands, getting in there isn’t easy.

For the past several months I've been running mine as Fat / Mark VII / IIB.Yeah it’s definitely a kickass amp. Loved the VII mode and IIB mode a lot, actually. Wasn’t expecting that.

Experience tells me I should not love the Mark VII. I generally prefer old school, single channel amps with a vintage sound. I generally don't love multi-channel amps that try to do everything. I love the clarity of hand wired amps.
And yet, I'm over the moon about the Mark VII. It's the amp I use 99% of the time since getting it in August.
I haven't felt the need to use a single overdrive pedal. I mean, I tried them, they sound good with it, and that was the end of the experiment. I have no need for them with this amp, and since I don't need 'em with this amp, do I need them at all? Why wouldn't I just use the Mark VII when I want an overdriven sound?
[looks over at pedalboard wondering 'how much can I get for these pedals']
More stuff:
I freaking love the midrange!! It's got a perfect resonant frequency that's very vocal sounding. It has personality and accentuates the personalities of the guitars.
Even played squeaky clean, the amp sustains like crazy. I can also get controlled feedback - even at low volume. It's simply taking me anywhere I want to go, and with a liquidity and focus that fits me like a glove.
I love ALL the modes; I simply set the gain and guitar volumes as needed and move right along!
This isn't to say I no longer love my other amps. Of course I do! I...uh...just haven't gotten around to, you know, playing them in a while...![]()
So.... getting an adapter cable that always stays plugged into the amp ........
If anyone wants to roll the dice…
Do you get a MKVII or a Dual Rec?? Smash “BUY NOW” and find out…

I've had my Mark V for about a year, and I've barely used any of my other amps! It's been nearly 3 months since I got the Mark VII. While I am emotionally attached to my other amps, in comparison to the Mark they're not really being used often.
Three months is one hell of a long honeymoon. Just sayin'.
