Thank You, James Freeman

NOBODY's closing 2023 without a decent 2203.

I'm lolling at the haters on the L6 forum who will outright tell you to sell your Helix, and who don't know how to use a stock JCM800 in the first place.

Are people truly not liking this amp? That's wild lol

Let me guess, not enough gain? Lol

Think about it... the HD500, which is sported from 2011 to 2021, did not have a proper 2203. Now we have one. I am really thankful for some users and forums around the globe.

I'd give you a case of finest German beer if I wouldn't need it myself.

can you put this preset up?

I was blown away how much closer this sounded with the helix greenback cab vs celestions own IRs

There is no preset, that's just the amp with the settings you see the entire video, I show everything in the beginning.
The IR is Ownhammer "OH 412 EDVH M20-PR 57-05".
Spectrum analyzer is before the IR.

I’m not sure there’s special juju in the new 2203 so much as the circuit is just that good. Being able to switch from heinous crunch on a LP bridge pickup and then sensitive EOB via the neck pickup slightly rolled down is 100% a trademark of the circuit. Literally the attraction.

Thanks! Why is the master so low?

I have no idea why James set it there, but that's a pretty typical setting in the real world of real amps. I mean, we're talking a 100W tube amp here. Higher master settings would make the world shake.
After all, the 800 was made to allow for rather high amounts of gain without being cranked too much. So I'd assume that many of the famous tones created with it had similar master settings.

Okay, now I'm downright giddy, to try this, because my go-to IR has been one from a YA M20 pack.
