Thank You, James Freeman

Haha yea and also James tells us to put master on 2.4 and then mysteriously the 2203 stock value master is 2.5. Hmm...

Yes, agreed. I've owned a couple JCM800s and this L6 model gets everything right. The attack and response, the "kerrang", the way it cleans up nicely, just everything overall feels and sounds so accurate. Super touch sensitive and feels great, too.

Also, I didn't even touch the settings, except channel level. It was perfect right out of the gate.
Okay, NOW you're talking to ME . . .

This might be the best amp model in the Helix!

That was my reaction, too. Even aside from being a great and accurate 2203, on a general model-quality level it just seems more realistic, both in sound and feel, than any other Helix amp model I've tried. Dare I say, Fractal level? Maybe I'm just excited, but that was my immediate sense.

I did post James’ video. If only there was some guarantee that a dedicated thread wouldn’t invite the ban hammer…

Hi @Digital Igloo , I thought I'd just quote myself here:
I actually can't think of anything to ask for, the 2203, Voltage and Dripman will basically replace everything in my patches, they're the archetypes I always wanted. Granted I was entirely happy with the Plexi Jump, but none of the Bassman derivatives quite hit the Bassman 50 / Blonde character in the way I hoped. The Dripman delivers entirely.

So since I have nothing serious to ask for, I'll ask this... What would happen if I opened my preset file and edited the @fs_ledcolor value? I don't recognize the numerical format, will brick my Helix If I try changing one?

Probably not. If you completely mess with the JSON, you may end up going over the DSP allotment, which could cause that preset to crash the hardware. But a factory reset would get you back to square one. Just make sure your stuff is backed up.

I would put it there for sure, IMO.

I don’t know if it’s the magic of this particular amp, or something special about the modeling process, but the clarity, touch sensitivity, dynamics, response of the tone controls, distortion texture, etc. are superb.

If this is due to improvements in their modeling processes, I’d love to hear some of the oldest Helix amps “re mastered.”

I've noticed this too.
Whatever it is they did, please keep doing that.
