Synergy Owners Thread

I wanted the Kalli but they weren't in stock, so I chose the Uberschall. It definitely does justice to the low notes on my 7 string. I understand there is quite a bit of crossover between the high gain preamps. I wonder if there will be enough difference between the Kali and the 'schall.
I honestly wouldn't think there would be much cross talk between the kali and Uber? The Uber to me is very saturated with a big bottom end whereas I always viewed the Kali as dry and tight. However, my only experience with the Kali would be through NDSPs Cali plugin so there's that 😂

I'm really enjoying the clean channel on the IR20. It sounds great with my Carvin Bolt (strat shaped object) and my BB Xotic Pre copy (inexpensive Caline pedal). The clean channel really allows the pedal voices to be heard. I'm about to order the Keeley MK3 overdrive that was developed with Andy Timmons. It should sound amazing through the IR20. I'm really enjoying all the Synergy stuff.

Well, as one who never played through a a Kali my opinion is worth nothing!

Good info guys. I recently picked up a new mixer for the band, so it will be a few months before I make up mind about which my next preamp will be. Uber is at the top of the list based n what I have heard and your comments.

Well well well...

Might be a leak on Phil's part (which is unusal) but this is REALLY cool on Marshall's part and a HUGE achievement for Synergy and BAD.

I went from a Synergy setup to Axe-FX alone and came back to Synergy with Axe-FX for effects only. Just like it better that way.
This is the way.

I emulated the Synergy ecstasy module with the blue amp in the fractal and although strumming chords they were very close. Playing single notes was a big difference much more in favour for the synergy.

I’ve had a bit of interest in these lately but I’m not certain I’d get more out of one than I would my AxeFX.
Synergy wound up being a several hundred dollar rabbit hole of “yeah, I should have known better” for me.

It sounds good…and maybe if I were really focused on sounds that mostly come from preamp saturation I’d have a different feeling - but not as good as the Axe. Having direct 1:1 knobs was nice for getting everything set up, but as always I eventually found the sound and didn’t touch anything.

The one thing I liked was being able to crank a boost/overdrive pedal into it without having to watch out for digital clipping.

How is the noise with 4cm? Not sure if it's a Helix thing or something else but Helix in the loop of the Mark V with nothing but noise gates (or nothing) has soo much noise I can't even enjoy it.
