Synergy Owners Thread

Do NOT listen to Ryan Bruce’s demo of this thing. I’m not sure that guy understands how different amps work, at all.

I watched his vid first, because a friend sent it to me, and I had immediately written this thing off, then I saw Shawn’s and Nielsen’s vids, and it sounds awesome.
Huh? He hasn’t posted a video on it.

He did the official Synergy video :bag
Ah there it is. I tried searching him and his channel and couldn't find it. Hes just trying to metal it up a bit. Yeah its more of a vintage preamp, so maybe it was a miss by him, but I still don't think the demo was too bad. He definitely gets a bit of a tool / 90s vibe from it.

I just watched Leon’s video and it sounded great. I doubt I’ll grab one as I’m not really after vintage tones that often, but who knows. Could end up on my radar in the future if I see a deal on a used one.

I loaded up my plexi module and it does sound great especially pushed with a boost.

I might give this JMP a go but interested to know how much gain compared to the original plexi module.

This JMP module seems like a pretty good preamp; probably gonna grab one instead of the Fortin one I've been eyeing for a while.

..now ... where's that SYN-50IR?

The 50w head with the basic clean included + digital backend (when needed) might be Synergy arriving in its final form. I hope that’s in the pipeline with the SYN2-IR. 🤞

That or a 100W of the same would be pretty amazing/ideal. The 50W needs a clean channel more than an IR loader, IMHO. The 30W has a great one already.

I dunno man, that Fortin one is killer and covers a lot of ground. Would love to A/B them, but I use the Fortin live over my JP2C and EVH 5150 as it just sits so nicely in the mix and combined with an Axe-FX in 4CM covers a LOT of ground, from 70s and 80s rock to some pretty heavy metal tones in the modded Marshall range.

My live rig is the current 50w head and Fortin Killer Kali combined with the BMan and it covers things well for the range of songs we cover and the heavier originals we do.
