I just bought an Axe FX 3, pictures to follow. I investigated using stereo patches when I am running it in mono, and this is what google said: ". For best results, ensure your preset uses a mono Cabinet block, or set the Output 1 mode to "SUM L+R" in the I/O > Audio menu to combine stereo signals without losing sound. " I did this and configured the power amp **(Fryette) to run in mono. I am wondering how much loss of tone/sound/effect I will experience using patches made for stereo. Is it a significant loss? Will it vary by patch?

It depends on the effects you're using in a given patch.

Sum L+R generally works well but if you've got patches with unaligned stereo cabs or time based effects with phase offsets the results will be less pleasing than just using a single output.

A classic example is the 2290 delay where the outputs are out of phase with one another. When summed you won't hear any delay.
