As we’re getting mighty close to launch, I thought I’d better give some thought about where it’s going to live. Normally with a floor unit, the obvious answer to this is ‘on the floor’ but Focus View on a nice touchscreen changes the game somewhat. Especially because Showcase will effectively stamp on things for me when it arrives!
I don’t have room on my actual desk and the floor space : crap ratio isn’t in my favour in this tiny little home studio. So I thought I’d post what I’ve bought in case it helps others in a similar boat. Please excuse the untidy cables but I’m sure I’m not alone there! Because I don’t have the Stadium yet, the best I can do is ‘proof of concept’ with my Kemper floorboard. Actual stage is around 19 inches so will almost go to the edges (the amp is little over 20).
The things enabling this cost £14 U.K. - it’s a pair of these things….

They’re a weird hybrid of plastic and metal (the cross braces are metal, the rest isn’t) but, with two of the legs wedged under the amp handle the seem pretty solid. If I don’t think they’re adequate when the stadium turns up then it won’t live there - last thing I need is a £2k box hitting the floor when the cat decides to use it as a springboard. It might also be a little too high - it’s possible I might lose the amp and simply use the stands on top of the speaker cabinet.
So what’s everyone else doing? This thread might help someone out there and that someone might be me if one of you has a better idea for me…
In related news - here’s the current setup. My Matamp tends to just get used as a table as it scares the aforementioned cat. The Kemper goes to my studio monitors on the desk - less fun, more practical. The stadium will be the same but….. I do have a Loudster power amp so I’ll occasionally be cranking the 1x12 here
