@BigHairyGuitars did a great sounding demo of the hardware unit. He highlighted some of the UI/language issues but made it sound incredibly good at least to my ears!

For anyone who wants to attempt something like this in the future...don't make hardware if you can't make it good to use. The Amperium Live is pretty much a "computer editor" needed device.

Doesn't this also have an Android/iOS app that lets you adjust the device in real-time since it has built-in Bluetooth?

That was one of my main methods of control for the Boss GT-1000. I had the same hope that Quad Cortex mobile app would give me that convenience, but no such luck....

how you interact with real gear is so much more important than it gets talked about. tabbing through pages and finding what you need to do is an instant turn off.

The layout looks fine for using on a computer but it’s almost like the user experience with the HW is an afterthought with the pedal.

Totally agreed (just that I actually talk about it a lot - in fact, it's my major grief with each and every all-in-one modeler).

I had a bash on this for the last month or so, the modeling sounds pretty good and the captures are fairly decent too. The software UI definitely needs an overhaul but it's got some really good ideas going on.

And the JCM800 model sounds pretty accurate, don’t you think @James Freeman ?

Sounds good to me.
But a complete model not only has to sound good but also have the same knob interaction of the real amp, that is not demonstrated so I can't know how accurate it is.

Agree... More cheap profile players/modelers/plugins are just going to be 'me too' products and dilute the marketplace unless they are well done at this point.

- How good is the editor on a tablet? Sufficient so you can quickly make adjustments, say, at soundcheck, while having your tablet on a tablet stand?
- What's the latency?

After watching Leon's and BHG videos - I downloaded Amperium and of all the profilers I've tried - this is my favourite so far. Just seems to speak to me dynamically.

I can’t say I’m too interested in this product, but I’ve been watching their website for months waiting for their React:IR to be available again. I shall wait as long as I have to wait, especially under their circumstances.

I have the Amperium Live, and I have mixed feelings. First of all, I like it. It's a good quality unit, I like its sound, but for recording I'm still using NAM, it's more convenient and provides faster workflow as Amperium has no digital connections and digital reamping option. But for live acts it's an outstanding unit. The amp models behave like real amps, and the newer power amp models have some nice magic. App is good as well, I'm using my iphone on stage to make quick adjustment before concert. During playing it's not so easy :)

I understand the concept behind NNM, and I understand that St Rock guys wanted to make an improved version compared to NAM. My issue is the availability of profiles. For NNM those are VERY limited. I have no chance to get different amps for profiling. So have to stick to NAM where I can find a HUGE profile colletion on Tonehunt.
