since you own both can you use the same setting in the Pete Thorn vid on the Captain Morgan Model in QC and get similar results?

I agree with you the QC version is definitely darker and bassier
The plug in top end seems to have more sparkle and less congestion

I kind of disagree here - IMO the strength of these style of plugins is not being overwhelmed with options as it adds a ton of clutter.

No need to clutter things, they just have to make some kind of Rack thing to put our paid plugs and use parts of them as a whole rig.

Yes we can make this in our DAWS but its like 6 instances of Neural DSP plugs when there could only be one to do this.

figured I’d give it a demo.

Plugin looks great, instantly sounds and works how you’d expect. Classic NDSP thing of you fire it up the first time and it sounds like how you think it will. Briefly compared to corresponding Fractal models with the same IR, a bit different but didn’t have much preference between them sonically. Probably enjoyed the amp models more than I thought, they aren’t really amps on my radar. Nice and chimey, quite versatile as far as tailoring tones for different guitars. Nice to have the bright switches/modes/low input/reverb controls on the amp as well as the look of the originals.

Afterwards I fired up Helix Native and tried the Lonestar and DC30 models which I’ve been enjoying for these kind of clean/chimey/EOB tones and way prefer those, but it’s just a preference for those amps more than anything else.

MAYBE I’d grab this at 50% sale price, although IMO it’s probably more for people who are really into Morgan amps

Man, i wish Helix had a Morgan AC30. I reeeeallly liked that model in the FM3 for everything Vox-y.

The Fractal AC20 Deluxe model sounds very similar to the Victory VC35 I had. It's a great modernized Vox AC30 style thing.

Not having a cab with Alnico Blues or Golds is a miss for that amp in the NDSP plugin.
