If you had to pick only one NDSP plugin...

It still blows my mind that the newly released plugins (and future ones) aren't readily compatible and loadable on the QC. It seems like just doubling up the work
It’s hard to really say as they have not released any new plug-in in 2024 so maybe going fwd in 2025 they will have figured out to just release X versions going fwd
At least that’s my hope

It brings into stark focus the fact that this is not "compatibility" in any conventional sense of the word. They're just developing new CorOS content at their typical, excruciatingly slow pace.
Yes, they're clearly porting the plugin content to the QC on a per element basis and then providing the ability to import presets to the QC from the plugin using the ported elements.

They might be able to automate some aspects of the porting process to improve turn time as they move forward. There's also quite a bit of redundancy. Like the pedals, etc, which are likely just variant of one another.

I suspect they likely have certain changes on the plugin side to facilitate this process by putting it into a common framework and that is what that 'X' version business is all about.

Based on history, I expect them to continue forward motion but at a pace that tests some folks patience. As someone who is rooting for them, I am hopeful they will get through it in about 18-24months but that might be far too aggressive. We'll see, shrug.

Post Marg-Monday happy hour I’ve deleted posts I started typing up both in this thread and “is anyone else sick of modelers”

I hope y’all are proud of me :cop:LOL:

the Plini one is pretty sweet. My bass player uses it for the guitars on the demos for the stuff he writes

About 20 seconds of our last EP was reamped through the Plini plugin as well because he (the bass player, who mixed the whole thing) was complaining about an unpleasant freq for that part he couldn’t dial out

It’s the archetype Petrucci for me.
It’s the only one I own
I might use it if I feel better
When I get stoned

I’ve got a bunch and for no particular reason I seem to always use the Soldano one. I guess I must just really like a boosted SLO because everytime I use captures or other sims, when I go back to NDSP Soldano it always feels like an improvement…. Ampsim Stockholm syndrome maybe? Either way it’s awesome.

The Morgan AC20 for me, although I used the Tone King a lot before the Morgan one was released. I haven't tried the other two amps in the suite, I get stucked in the AC20 since day one.

Nameless is my go to, buuuuuut..
I have been thinking of Petrucci, just a bit too steep for my tastes - even at 50% off. I find it really difficult to spend that much on "virtual gear".

I have been thinking of Petrucci. I've been putting it off because of the steep price (even at 50% off).
Petrucci is a nice compliment to Nameless - it’s better for leads and cleans I think. Nothing beats Nameless’ rhythm chunk for me though.

I spent a LOT of time yesterday dialing in the Mesa plugin to try and get it close to my Mark V 35, and I think I have a little more work to do but I DID get closer than I thought I could, and Mesa may be giving Nameless a run for its money lol

I was playing Petrucci recently and it was a solid reminder of how much every control affects everything else. The master volume alone can shape the tones so much. Kind of awesome how it’s unmistakably a Mark series amp and experience without having the usual controls.
