Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Tonex V2 work using your computer resources, namely you don't need an internet connection at all? It's a shame that Neural doesn't offer a solution like that.

While for Neural's ecosystem making it cloud based probably makes the most sense...it also means that it might be harder to share or retain full ownership of those captures. Can you export the V1 captures from Cortex Control or are the only options still full backup or upload to cloud and use the Cortex Cloud permissions?

Seems like we are slowly entering a situation where all platforms will have great accuracy captures - provided Kemper can deliver with V2 as well.

The capture process with the NC is so fast and easy I’d never go back to the wiring mess that is the Tonex option.

I have to just a little bit about the fact that the only reason I bought Achetype Rabea was for the synth, and then PCOM support for Rabea never materialized, and then NDSP included the synth in this firmware "for free".

Still psyched that it's here, and I must say: this is a pretty EPIC update to just arrive out of left field. Kudos NDSP.

It depends on the audio interface. Some are going to be much more plug and play while others will need a separate reamp box to avoid ground noise. On my UAD Apollo, sometimes I get ground noise that would prevent my ability to capture, sometimes I did not and the captures were great. I would need to buy a separate re-amp box. Or more realistically I'd probably buy one of those IK audio interfaces that have an integrated reamp feature.

That's why a proper hardware unit calibrated for captures is nice. Everything is all in one without worrying about noise or issues. Gain should be calibrated already. It should give the most consistent results.

For the NC, I run the Capture Out to the front of my amp. Then the amp through my Suhr RL, then back to the capture input of the NC. 5 minutes later I have a 1:1 sound of my amp in the NC. It’s awesome.

I was mistaken, this is not a "pretty EPIC" update. This is an ABSOLUTELY EPIC update. V2 captures, synth, spring reverb, Dumble, some of the best digital fuzz I've ever heard (albeit in "needle in a haystack" capture form)... It's f***ing Christmas!

This will definitely make the wait for the little Stadium a whole lot easier. :)

The old captures did not work well with fuzz, and I'm not surprised if they were bad on blended amps as those are complex. Compression is a new one though, I'm not sure anyone ever tried to capture that before? Seems there's a bigger time component there. I'll be curious how that works out.

I don't have a QC anymore but the biggest issue I had is with gain levels being incorrect. Curious if that got fixed.

Typically, yes. But it's almost absurd in this video. The V1 captures are obviously completely missing the mark for these specific devices (everything up to the Recto and JCM), and he doesn't really address the point. Then it's like, "Now let's compare the V2 capture directly against the V1 capture (that clearly failed outright). As you can hear, V2 captures the subtle bloom of the blah blah blah..." No, what I hear is the V1 sounds more or less like the guitar signal being run dry.

Regardless, V2 is the real deal. I already liked the sound and feel of the QC, and this is like a second honeymoon. These new Fender Deluxe '58 (and Vox AC10, and on and on...) captures are astonishing.
