I’ve been close a couple times to buying the SLO30 again for the Clean and Crunch channel, so this having dedicated channels for each might end up moar betterer…
Yes, thankfully, I'm inoculated for Soldano GAS via the SLO30 and the Synergy modules (not to mention the Axe is not shabby there); otherwise this would have been irresistible for me back in the day.

It being a proper three channels and having some additional options to tweak the voicing is super appealing. The SLO clean actually sounds really good but it's not dedicated and has a ginormous level discrepancy which means that for that amp it is either swap in another preamp (via the Fractal) or roll back the volume on the crunch for cleans unless you are willing to forego the crunch/normal voicing which frankly is far too good to resist.

The price to build out a rig with a substantial power amp for that beast starts to get you in the range of the OG 100 watter and you will end up with at least 4u of rack space, though; and you can get a lot of nice amp heads for just the $2500 buy-in on the preamp...

Nonetheless great to see this being released and I fully support the 'Rack is Back' movement.

Yeah that was my biggest gripe with the SLO30, the shared volume/gain knob for Channel 1. It just wasn’t practical to interchangeably use Clean and Crunch mode. It was more of ”ok I’ll use this for a little bit, then reset everything.”

That’s what’s super appealing about this X88 for me. Everything with its dedicated controls and choose your own adventure channel 2/3 stacks. Also, despite the rack craze being a little before my time, I remember thumbing through magazines as a kid and still seeing some of those awe inspiring rigs with the purple preamp, (and the fish too) and thinking “yeah, one day man”… I think that day is here. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
