I dig the SLO, but the 5150 and Dual Rectifier are superior amps.I bet Mike a uttered a few choice words when Peavey released the 5150![]()

He might have. I’m just going by what he wrote in his biography. I reckon it’d be hard to remember every detail from those sessions.Dang, I thought for sure I read an interview from back then Joe stating using some Peavey amp too for that album.
It stuck with me, but Joe would know better! (I hope).![]()
What about Time Machine?
What about Time Machine?
Time Machine 1993: Ibanez JS guitars and Marshall 6100s for '90s live rig; '88 live rig: '67 Marshall Super Lead; studio tracks: Boogie Body Strat-type electric, Wells amp, Soldano, Marshall 6100, Roland JC-120, 5150 head, 58 Fender Esquire, Fender custom shop Stratocasters, Cry Baby wahs, Boss DS-1, DD-2, and CE-2 pedals
The *impact* of Eddie's brown sound revolution from 78' - 84' impacted the Marshall mod community in ways that definitely contributed, not directly per say, more than any other player before or afterI was replying specifically to the "and contributing to the development of the Soldano SLO-100." part, which isn't the case.
Indeed. And the irony of it being a 99% stock plexi all the time.!The *impact* of Eddie's brown sound revolution from 78' - 84' impacted the Marshall mod community in ways that definitely contributed, not directly per say, more than any other player before or after![]()
Except for the Variac , but yes Mike Soldano has said it was Bone stock when Eddie gave it to him for a tune upIndeed. And the irony of it being a 99% stock plexi all the time.!
And the variac doesn't really change the tone much at all either. Just an amp screaming for mercy with every know on 10 and a pair of magic hands!Except for the Variac , but yes Mike Soldano has said it was Bone stock when Eddie gave it to him for a tune up![]()
