SHOW OFF YOUR PEDALBOARD!

Hmm… I think the TU-2 is actually the only pedal on that board I'm familiar with. Kudos for choosing something other than the usual suspects!

Old Boomerang totally crapped out now. Trying to learn more on this Boss RC-600.

I took my board apart a few weeks ago, because I was doing some delay and reverb analysis and needed everything separated.

And of course, band practice last night from 7pm. So at 5:45pm, I had to quickly rush a board together. Couldn't be nobbed to build the full thing, so just put on: volume, wah, tuner, DD500, RV5, MercuryX.

And you know what??? I was able to achieve pretty much everything I normally would have with the monster board.

The only part that sounded bad was a particular ambient intro section where normally I'd use the analog delay on my Source Audio Nemesis, and I ended up just using a digital delay on the DD500. Was too crisp and clear and distracting. Everything else was phenomenal though.

Yup, "basic" rigs can totally be fun just as well, without the heavy luggage. No mistake to assemble quick grab'n'go boards.

I love doing that on my PT Nano+ if I'm bored.

I’ve got some work to do here but it’s a good start. I need a tuner with true bypass, I hate the tu-2 buffer, and for some reason it’s got like a 5 second delay when I turn it on before it starts working. I need a power supply that can power the stomp and the rest - very open to suggestions. Right now it’s a rat’s nest of wall warts and extension cords. And I probably need a different delay, a good spring and plate reverb, and maybe add another drive.

Get a TU-3W. You can turn the buffer off. I like the Truetone CS7 and CS12.

No truly remarkable changes compared to the last version, but they have a sorta big impact for me:

- Finally soldered that footswitch for the GT. Should've done it ages before. Now I will never ever have to enter manual mode again for normal performance.
- Tonex One replaced the Amplifirebox.
- Amplifirebox replaced the Amp Academy.

Sound is fantastic for what I need.

Unfortunately, I may have to buy a second Tonex One to replace the Amplifirebox. And then possibly a third one, so I never have to remove the others from the board. Yuck.
I may as well just wait for a Helix Stadium, but knowing I likely can't justify the expense for the time being, I rather turn this setup to perfection as good as it gets.

So is the GT-1000 just handling post-amp effects?

Or at least tactile footwork. Comes with the "grab-and-go", really... The Exp is put at the end for this very reason. I can live with this layout, I believe.

Fwiw:

- Amplifirebox replaced the Amp Academy.

Reverted that decision. Played a gig 2 days ago and the Amplifirebox cleans were seriously underwhelming in a live context (and I even had 3 patches prepared that I could quickly flip between). Fortunately I had the Amp Academy in my utility case, so I used a break to exchange them and it's been just much, much better.
However, next round will sorta defenitely include ordering a second Tonex One to take care of my clean duties.
And even if channel switching is coming with quite some nuisances, I may have to end the Friedman BE-OD's board existence once and forever, too. It's just really not a tight overdrive at all (the tight switch doesn't help much and I have the internal gain trim pot quite low already, too). Had a nice Marshall capture loaded as the second option on the Tonex One and checked it out here and there, pretty much mopped the floor with the Friedman through my pedal platform patch (the other drives work great with that patch).

@Sascha Franck How many amp tones are you needing? You can cycle through 2 in AB mode and three if you are on “browse mode” on the Tonex One.

I basically need 2 amp tones. But I need them to exist in two different loops, so I need multiple devices for them.
I'm aware MIDI controlling the Tonex One would be possible through the Pirate MIDI boxes, but it'd make things much more un-accessable in a live context.
