SHOW OFF YOUR PEDALBOARD!

Have you tried stacking the fuzz into the tumnus and using the tumnus to give you a volume boost after the fuzz?

Love that you've got two delays and three reverbs in the loop of the VP4. :rofl

Fuzz into klone is always a good idea
I'm actually running the tumnus into the fuzz - otherwise, with the Mark V, I don't need to use the Tumnus at all! But it works REALLY well for tightening up my Rockerverb. Definitely has become my favourite drive pedal for tightening up amps. Better than the SD-1 and the TS808.

But yeah... mid+treble orientated OD into the fuzz.. sounds lush as fuck. Actually been using it for more lead lines than doomy stuff, which the Demhe can deliver in spades btw. @Tom Von Kramm thanks again dude!!

Here’s the latest iteration of my Tonex pedal based board:

I definitely prefer to use Tonex as an amp sim combined with other pedals, and not as an all-in-one-solution.

Btw; I’m also in the final stages of putting together a board combining my Tone King Imperial preamp pedal with my Fractal VP4. After a lot of thinking and going back and forth, I think I have some nice ideas for that one. But I will have to verify that everything will work as intended. I have high expectations for it, at least!

Nice set up! Are you using the Cab M just for the headphone out or are you using the cabs too? I picked one of those up not that long ago and have been digging its utility so far.

Thanks, @dbagchee! I like it!

Both really, depending on which captures I’m running on the Tonex and the rest of the setup on the occation.

The reason the Cab M+ is there in the first place is that I want to have the El Cap and Golden after the Tonex amp capture and still have an headphone output available, and the Tonex doesn’t have an FX loop.

I generally prefer to use Amalgam DI captures on my Tonex. In such cases I either have an IR of choice selected in the Tonex preset or I use the Cab M+ as IR loader or cab sim. Then I can use the headphones out on the Cab M+ or run the XLR out on the Cab M+ to my active CLR wedge, to my audio interface and studio monitors, or to FOH.

I can also disable the IR/cab and use the XLR out from the Cab M+ to my Matrix GT1000FX and use one of my traditional guitar cabs.

I do also use some full amp+cab captures on the Tonex. I really don’t like IK’s attempt to let the user «remove» the cab from such captures, so when I’m using these full captures the Cab M+ is used as a DI box (no IR or cab sim) but with an additional headphones out.

Of course, the Cab M+ also offers other utilities that can come in handy, like an end-of-chain-EQ etc.
