Show me your PRSi

Core is Made in America top of line before it starts getting into Private Stock territory. The CE is Made in America with bolt on necks. The S2 is Made in America but less pizazz - less of a carved top than the Core line, not as flashy. The SE line is made overseas - arguably one of the best budget line of any of the big guitar brands

Just to confuse things older CEs before they were discontinued were also core guitars. Older CEs were the same spec as customs but with bolt on maple necks. Newer CE models have a different top carve, no recessed cavity covers and cheaper hardware.

I just realized I never posted in this thread for some reason.

Kind of a far away pic, but from left to right:

1. 1990 Alder body CE, all stock except for a stainless steel refret.
2. 2005 Navarro sig model, JB/Jazz combo, graph tech saddles
3. 2004 Custom 24 w/rosewood neck, Matteo Blue, Artist Package, JB/Jazz combo, McCarty switching, graph tech saddles.

I also have a heavily modified Tremonti SE, in the see through black. Mann bridge, DiMarzio pickups, Tusq nut, new pots and switch, locking tuners and a tremol-no.

I’ve been thinking of further upgrades to my Cu24SE. Is it worth changing the wiring from stock? Already swapped PUs. But first I probably need to get some uneven frets fixed and generally set up for the string gauge I have on it now.

Only if you use the volume and tone a lot. If you predominantly play with everything on 10 then probably not.

I love the SE locking tuners I got - primarily for string changes and they look classy imo (I also changed the tuner buttons):

So, I did something I have wanted to do for many years but always decided to not do it because of how crazy expensive it is. A year ago my wife told me to just do it and we will work it out. So, I made a trip with my wife to the factory the first week of December. This showed up this past Saturday.

Wow what a beauty! Congrats!

Oh My God Wow GIF

I have quite a few PRS guitars. They are the most represented in my collection. Thinking about it now, my collection is pretty much half PRS guitars. The private stock I posted above this has been with me for a week now. The more I play this guitar the more I am falling in love with it. I have discovered some fantastic tones in it over the past week. Now I feel more compelled to try to get some recording done. I hope it drives me to get that done. I spent the weekend playing through a few different amp options into my computer to see what excited me the most. I found some good stuff. My Kemper and my FM9 both had updates that I had not applied yet. I spent most of the weekend with the Friedman IR-D and some pedals as well as my FM9. This coming week I plan on hooking the Kemper up to see what I find in there now.

I can't wait to feel the sheer amount of guilt and excitement as I open up my first private stock PRS lol

You all have some amazingly beautiful PRS guitars that I’m sure play and sound as lovely as they look!

But it was this basic black 2018 PRS S2 Studio that spoke to me:

Its main draw was the HSS pickup set with a Starla and two Velas, its unusual wiring, along with coil tap and phase switching, and for its versatility and broad range of tones.

I use it at home to fiddle with pedals through a Henriksen Blu Six:

And on occasion play it live at a small local venue through my grab and go board into a backline Roland JC 120:
