Should I upgrade my audio interface?

Unfortunately class compliant audio interfaces usually don‘t perform as efficiently and fast (latency) than interfaces with dedicated drivers.

One of the most unfortunate exceptions being the Helix' onboard interface, which performs way worse with drivers installed. Too bad you really need them once things get even slightly more advanced.
