Should I jump on these V30s?

Found some locally for a pretty good price, 4 bills for a quad. Apparently someone needs to make a car payment. I sent the seller a feeler message but got no response so far..

So I have this Fender GE 412 with the stock OEM Eminence drivers and have been contemplating replacing them with something else, not exactly sure what.

I also have:
A 65w G12M Creamback in my Katana which I like.
A pair of 25w Greenbacks in a 2x12 and quite enjoy these although they can get harsh.

A while back I had a 4x12 of G12-T75s that were okay, and eventually paired them with a borrowed 2x12 of V30s which blew those T75s away so I stuck with just that 2x12 of V30s until I had to give it back, and eventually sold the 4x12.

I don't really dislike the stock speakers in the Fender GE 412 cab right now, so I'm unsure whether I should even bother.

that speaker is gonna annoy the bloody hell outa you after greenbacks. grotty upper mid scree hell is what that is unless you play metal.

ill edit myself and say that i find em bad sounding and inflexible, they dont clean up well, and its thenkinda thing you can't dial out if youre me. youre not, and the world is likely thankful.

hahaha... i LIKE your sounds that ive heard- but theyre modern. THAT is what they do. theyre the foundation of modern sounds. but i could never use them for the sound inside my
head.
Okay but that speaker was first released in 1986 ?? Plenty of dad rock has happened since then!!

Interesting take. I do play metal but only occasionally and almost always by myself. I generally don't like the way they sound recorded in isolation but in mixes they sound fine. They always seemed to sound fine when I've stood in front of them, too.

I should see if I can borrow that 2x12 again..

i like them mixed with other speakers- especially an h30 just to fill@in the bottom and top. guitar is a midrange instrument, but the ol dirt kazoo isnt what im shooting for

Amazing speakers for everything, extremely versatile.
This is what I remember of the 2x12, although it has been a very long time since I've been in the room with it.
Who even uses a 4 x 12 anymore???

I almost even look at it as me just buying four speakers. I could put them in my 2x12 or Katana, start that 1x12 cab woodworking project I told myself I'd start one day? I could mix the Cream with a V30 in my 2x12 and try that, I haven't tried mixing speakers in a single cab yet.

Dammit, this is why I stay off FB!

We are brilliant beings at rationalizing whatever the fuck we want to justify.

I bought a Line 6 4 x 12 loaded with V30s for less than $200 from GC once. I think
@JiveTurkey did something similar. I hawked them out of the Cab and sold a couple
and kept a couple. And yes, that big, dumb Cab is in my Garage eating up space.

I may have a Bonfire!!
