Behringer are the original scum. That's a given. It is the trade dress and it is the fact that no one will win against their litigious bs, regardless of how much credibility the case brought to them has.

I've also grown tired of cheap shrieking 24x7 that we should be playing through the worst pieces of guitar garbage we can because some YT turd told us so. You don't have to buy a $4k amp but have some self respect FFS. Not directed toward you @KingsXJJ ; just general place I've got to over the past few years. I'm still going to play through my Mustang turd and love it for what it is. But just going bonkers for every piece of garbage coming down the pipeline because it's cheap is just not my thing.

For me demon fx don't pose quite the same level of problem as behringer because someone has to go looking for their gear. You've got to import it directly from China and they're definitely not shifting as many units as behringer or warm audio which are in every major retailer.

Mu tron still exists and is still actively manufacturing their pedals. Mike Beigel literally invented the envelope filter.

Regardless, there's been plenty of copies of this circuit going around across all prices ranges for decades that no ones complaining about.

Behringer isn't some savior here swooping in to fill a hole in the market or "help out young players"

I'm not sure why you still keep bringing up the circuit, I don't know how many people can keep turning blue in the face saying that's not what its about.

The blatant trade dress infringement as well as behringer trying to co op the history of the pedals is the problem here.


It should be taken to court, and it should be a fairly simple matter, but unfortunately a small American company vs. a multibillion international conglomerate isn't as easy of a lawsuit as you are trying to make it. Mike as alluded that he has been trying to handle this in the court system. Unfortunately its been an uphill battle for a small business vs teams of hundreds of laywers on retainer who specialize in getting away with this kind of stuff

Let judges sort it out. It’s what they do. If it’s a matter of money being spent on representation we have a much bigger problem folks should be concerned about over pedals… buying justice with money. Happens all the time. Imagine that if you are facing a death penalty! Yet folks want to pretend Behringer is an evil that must be confronted! Why doing nothing else. It pretentious and shallow. Rigger Please.

Let’s start ignoring international laws on warfare, ignore the constitution, and let who knows who do whatever the fuck they want and focus on the evil-doers at Behringer! Sounds about right to me. They must be stopped by any means necessary whether legal or not!

I try things and typically pass on them and buy the original. Because I can. Many across the world can’t because of one reason or another. Often because of wealth inequity. The entire system is broken. Kudos to those that offer an alternative that allows those affected to create.

It truly isn’t except for his isn’t cheaper. You might argue differences in quality but good luck with that. Following that argument, if it sounds better… it’s ok. If it sounds similar and is cheaper… that’s theft.
