Reverb's most sold product in 2024 was the NDSP Quad Cortex

I meant in terms of noise. Wasn’t the original prone to hum and such?

Some people had ground loop noise issues, but that may be part of how the overall rig is constructed. I think the idea with the two prong power unit is that you can ground it to whatever other gear you're using rather than having it grounded to the outlet and then having a ground loop issue. I had that with a Helix LT and Fender tube amp that would not work together at all despite trying hum eliminators.

Friedman IR-X and similar pedals would have the same issue. So I think it's a design choice they made.

Still, I'd much rather have a better quality adapter. There's some aftermarket but I haven't taken the plunge yet.

Here's the problem with this logic. The Helix is the most successful modeler of all time. There must be 50x as many of them in the wild, so the Helix should top used sales. For the NDSP to outpace used sales of the Helix indicates a problem.
Or the market for people wanting the Helix is already saturated, given its time on market. In other words, it’s almost impossible to tell what the intentions of the used sale are.

If you like, you can convince yourself that the QC is awful. You're making a lot of assumptions to get there, but hey if that's what makes you happy, go for it.

Maybe there's more people prefering to keep the Helix than people prefering to keep the QC. Especially now that the hype has settled, folks already owning a Helix by now might as well just keep it. I'm sure there's a chance for more fluctuation on newer units because all the early(-ish) adopters not happy with their decision will just sell it. But once some time passed, people will have made more or less final decisions and at least not sell their units as quickly anymore.
At least it's like that for me. I either sell things rather quickly or just keep them for a substantial longer period of time.

NO! The QC is as the top of my list when I need a new modeler. No agenda here.

I'm just looking for more likely explanation. Having been sold for a relatively short period, and having many for sale used, is generally not a great sign. But it may also be something unrelated like NDSP having a Reverb outlet, and the only other place you can get them besides Sweetwater.

Honestly we're all guessing here...

Simplest answer is the most likely IMO. It's the most popular modeler right now. It's been out for a few years so there's used ones available, but it's still relatively new so it's the most attractive option.

Probably a bit of Stanley cup too, where people are seeing them more on social media and that makes them want it more.

And it could also be that there's one Quad Cortex, while Helix is split across the Floor, LT, Stomp, etc. And the Stomp is considered a pedal while the Floor is an amp according to Reverb...same thing with Fractal (FM3, FM9, Axe FX 3, etc.) and Kemper (Profiler, Stage, Player, etc.).

100% all of this. Remember those who actively discuss gear on the internet are less than 1% of total users, so opinions of forum posters are not ever truly indicative of the market at large. The QC with all it’s faults is wildly popular because it does everything a guitarist needs, is simple, compact, sounds great, and has a touch screen.

Qc still has not fufilled what was promised in the unit at launch .. years later and the power cord has not changed so why do people still buy it?
Because it's awesome... and not everything promised at launch mattered to every potential buyer... and the power cord is a perfectly typical AC/DC wallwart that doesn't really factor into the decision one way or another.

Go to autotrader and you will see more Teslas for sale the Rivian. Because there are many more Tesla.

As a baseline we can assume that the products have the same desirability and are sold used at the same rate. It could be argued that more people should be selling the Helix because it is older.

It probably just means that NDSP has an outlet on Reverb where they are using it to sell "used" refurbished gear, and the only other reseller in the USA that sells it is Sweetwater.
Most of the offered QCs on reverb are new, and offered by dealers afaict

There's some potential weirdness with Reverb too. I have sold all my Fractal gear at close to new prices over the years, because some buyers just can't get them otherwise. When I sold my FM3 a couple years back the buyer had purchased a lot of them, so I asked about it. He gets them stateside and resells them in SE Asia where they aren't available.

Reverb is weird and annoying.

I have a 100% perfect score for my account in Canada, but can I move it to the UK now that I live here? Absolutely not allowed, so I have to start from scratch with zero reputation, which is fecking ridiculous.
