Not to hijack but seems like a topical thread… This side project I’ve been jamming with has had some interesting developments…. We had a keys player the other night and in honestly I thought it was rad, but there was a group huddle afterwards and both the drummer and other guitar player had a lot of frustrations with him. And now apparently this other guitar player is probably going to bounce…… he seems super particular and picky. I guess he at minimum doesn’t want to continue with the bass player (who is in the drummers main band) or this keys player. I’m shocked and a bit complimented that he didn’t have any shit to talk about ke lol. He is quite skilled. As I’m typing this the drummer is texting me about the guitarist situation so will see lol

This is a really tricky time of year…. I think you should keep at it and determine if these cancellations or chronic or a symptom of the season once ‘26 gets rolling

Yeah there are a lot of caveats from now till the end of the month given the holiday. We are scheduled for next Monday but who knows.

Man, we put off all new business until the new year around this time because even in a professional setting this time of year blows. Everyone is in holiday land already and it’s an exercise in frustration trying to make things happen on any kind of timeline.

Oh yeah, we plodding along.

We did a couple of gigs. Took a month long break after doing an Halloween show.
So all of November off. Got together last week. Had a great time. Everyone was
present and on fire. Then today the drummer is like I can't make it this week and
might be out until after the New Year.

Glad as fuck I am not married to the guy more than one (occasional) night a week.



I am completely convinced that middle-aged men are more temperamental and flighty
than a pubescent tween-ager.

I'm at the point where even suggesting to run through a song more than once is pushing it.

I don't recall it being so challenging 20, 30 years ago. Men telling other men what to do is just not part
of the zeitgiest----unless lots of money and health insurance is on the table.

Very true! Playing the same 3 songs at barely half ass levels after 6 months because no one "wants any pressure" is like, infinite anger fuel for me though
