Want to play live again but....

Lots of good comments from people.

I think I've found my path forward. I'm going to sign up for the local community college jazz band in the fall. Jazz is a weakness of mine so it's an opportunity to get better at it. I'll get to play with people and there will be live performances. Plus it could be a good opportunity to meet other musicians in the area. Oh, and <15 minutes from home. I may be the oldest player there but that doesn't bother me. I'm looking forward to it.

Nice thing about Hard to handle is you should be able to play it with your eyes closed and the solo is pretty cool

Agree there is 50% of our setlist I don't really like but I know the songs and people like them and we get PAID!

A buddy I grew up with has regular successful gigs back home, but there is no way I could tolerate the set lists to stay interested and continue to put in the effort. I don't want to play classic rock from our era (Stones, Who, etc) let alone mixing in Taylor Swift tunes for many shows.

I appreciate those bands contributions to music, but never really cared to listen to them regularly, let alone learn the songs and play them weekly at shows.

Nah man I'm good.

You only have to play if and when it makes you feel good.

Been there myself…

Start your own band by putting ads in local papers ( now they do online) list and outline what you planning to sound like or influences… It will take time to weed out flaky ppl but eventually you’ll find ppl who have same interest as you.

Dont give up dude playing live so much fun if you dont get twit sound engineer….

Good luck
