That is SO true! I practice all the stuff I practice exactly because I'm trying to catch up for all the lost time I spent "partying" that I should've been applying to my guitar playing. And I am getting there, but man I wish I'd done this a long time ago!there isn't enough jam time in the universe to "catch up"

HEY!! It's not a competition.
You're out there still trying to put stuff together, whereas I lost that ambition some time ago. And the thing is, I know I'd have fun in whatever form it took, even if it was just a weekly "poker night", but I don't have it in me any more.
I enjoy reading about all you guy's bands endeavors though, very much. So keep it going!!

I know! It's been a competition against myself since the day I started playing and somehow, I've always lostHEY!! It's not a competition.

It takes effort and desire to push that I am not sure everyone else (maybe myself included) doesn't have a whole lot of anymore

I've come to believe it's THE most important thing. I've rubbed elbows with people who aren't particularly smart, yet are very successful, because they're driven!
Heck, Thomas Edison just tried every combination he could think of until he found something that worked, and had what, over 100 patents? While Tesla, who could see the solution to a problem in complex, three-dimentional detail, in his mind..., yet he died alone and penniless.
