PRS doesn't rise quite to the Keisel level, but sometimes their finishing options do feel like "just because you can doesn't me you should" situations.

I agree. Not a fan of tinted fretboards

See, IMO thats a situation where the roasted look compliments the finish of the guitar.

That neck is gorgeous, but I can imagine if that same flame shows on the fretboard, it could be distracting, especially in low-light stage conditions.

The flame was the same on the other side. It was more a case of optical illusion almost. You got a bunch of frets already running back and forth in that direction and then your flying around with 4 fingers that are also mostly in that direction. Who needs another couple hundred undulating waves going the same way!

Gorgeous as all hell but at what cost to the player - at least in my case.

Yeah, the only super flamed maple board I played that wasn’t distracting was one that was roasted (and maybe further tinted?) to about walnut shade.
