I need more variety...all my guitars are white, black, blue, red, or sunburst. Not sure what that leaves. Emerald green would be sweet. I also think a pink Silver Sky would be awesome.

Ok off topic but it's just come to my attention that they released an S2 SH special last month.... not sure how I missed that, my focus is rapidly looking in a different direction now...

S2 Standard. Normal retail for like $1700 iirc? The thing I have come to realize on PRS is I am a squirrel when it comes to narrowing down and focusing on ONE MODEL I want to pursue

Probably has import pickups in it but most of those pickups sound fine to my ears anyway

Not sure why, but the Tweener S2 line never did nothing for me. I am sure it is the "Just
right Goldilocks" line for some. To me it is neither cheap, nor top of the line. It's like the middle
child in a big family. Ignored and overlooked.
I love my S2s (and my even more weirdly positioned tweener CE24 lol). I don't find my core to be particularly "superior" to them in any tone/playability way. More so superior from an "artisan craftmanship" POV
the gap between S2 and Core has gotten even more narrow since last year. Only differences these days are the top carves, scarf joint necks on the S2s, plastic birds, and PRS still saving the super figured stuff for cores

That S2 played nice. Sounded good. Neck was a little wide and C shaped if I recall correctly? I was trying it out through a DC-3 combo (weird little Mark-y offshoot) that probably wasn't the best thing to use as a first time tryout platform? I ran it through a JTM60 combo as well. I liked it but didn't LOVE it. PRS for me are really all about how much I dig the aesthetic 1st, then how nice they feel/play second.

Mines not a wood library but I think it’s pretty exceptional for an S2…..
My other S2 is plain satin black so fancy tops need not apply lol. I also have a 10 top core cu22 and a ce24. The ce24 has a pretty lame flame but as far as tone and playability it might be my favorite of the bunch lol
I seriously think there’s about an 87% chance I will pull the trigger on an S2 semihollow special within the next 33 days…. Flame depth be damned I’m just stoked that an S2 version of that guitar exists now lol

S2s are rad pre or post 2024 upgrades used market or not
Brand new core prices are hard to stomach in 2025, but it’s not too hard to find used $2k and sub $2k cores, especially early aughts models

Some days I feel like I could just have a few Teles with different tunings and pickups.
Messing around and playing some Deftones riffs but in regular tuning on my Tele with vintage style pickups and it sounds pretty badass lol

Yeah there's crazy value on some S2's.
Got this one for $1000 mint condition with hardshell case. Swapped out the pickups and electronics which I had pretty much on hand outside of ordering some new pots for like $30. Blows the doors off my old Les Paul which I sold.

Those are sharp.... but man, oh man, I loathe that S2 body Bevel with the passion of 10,000 Suns incinerating the entire Cosmos.
