Truth. I think this comes from a few ignorant places, mostly people who just want to hear other people play slow ALL the time, (except for jazz guitar players and trumpeters ), and can't appreciate when a musician can play fast AND slow.And I just really, really love this song. I never get tired of hearing it and whenever I hear stupid sh*t like "Vai is all technique and no feeling"; first off, you don't reach his level without being truly passionate about playing and I don't think you could create something like this without that same passion. There's parts in this song that I just get lost in.
