DISCLAIMER - Not a Stadium or AM4 Topic :)

Am curious.

Been looking around for some Amp Sims for a Live Laptop Rig ..... NDSP, Scuffham*, Nembrini, Helix Native [which I already own] ... the usual suspects etc.....

Then found these - the Lumos, Nunchuck and McRocklin Suite - all by PolyChrome.

Dont know anything about the company of who "McRocklin" is (?)

Purely based on Y/T demo's .... these sound every bit as good as the usual suspects to me (?) but they don't seem to get any love around here (?)

Am I missing something ? Do they sound great but "feel weird" ? Or are they considered 2nd / 3rd Tier ? Or are they just a "small" entity with zero marketing budget (?)

Really am a bit flummoxed at the lack of mention of them (?)

* - to be fair, I will add that the Scuffham demo's are just fantastic sounding

Thomas McRocklin Is a North East England based guitarist who was a bit of a prodigy in the 90’s and got to play with Steve Vai and others. These days he’s a YouTube influencer and he’s one of those players that while very good I absolutely can’t listen to.

They're great all rounders - I definitely think they should get more praise.
- and ditto re: pitch shifters ... they're the best pitch shifters currently available, not just in quality but in terms of low latency.

Also, Luca and Thomas are real hardworking guys, always doing more to improve everything and having fun. =)

Man his playing is world class imo, crazy good. I don’t listen to albums or anything but any demo or stream he does the playing is just off the chain

I’ve got a pretty good ear to the ground with ampsims and polychrome seem to be taking a pretty good path for long term success imo. Mcrocklin and Luca seem to be a great combo of dev and guitar artist coming together. If they ever get official amp licenses or some artist collaborations I think that will get some broader appeal (not everyone is into idealised ampsims which I totally understand).

I’ve been using graphene and really like it, I also just picked up hyper tune metal for that kind of thing. Lumos isn’t for me but I remember thinking the presentation on it is top tier and the sounds are really good.

They have eternal trials with a couple seconds of silence, totally worth grabbing and giving them some use.

Thanks all.

Good to read the above. I was listening to all the Y/T demo tones and couldn't stop thinking why aren't thee being spoken off in the same Tier as NDSP etc...... the Lumos one especially seems to do clean to edge of breakup to classic rock as good if not better than anything else I've heard.

I've read / heard that Scuffham are doing a B/Friday sale from $129 / $119 down to $89 - probably grab that.

And *maybe* either Lumos or the McRocklin Suite - also %50 off
