Peavey: Hold My Beer

Both likely got C&D letters. Apparently Tony Pepers definitely did, and put it out as the Mage with different graphics. Might explain why Acorn's was redesigned.

I have the smaller Acorn pre, the difference is that the larger variant also has a 10W amp built in, to make the Decade geeks happy.

The small one sounds nice, but it's not like there's anything really special about them. Very unspectacular run-of-the-mill preamp, that's all. 🤷‍♂️

Top-notch craftsmanship by Acorn, though.

Alright, why the fuck do I feel like I just walked into a seedy pawnshop full of shitty gear?

I have a soft spot for the Bandit growing up during the 80’s. But a large part of the experience were the cabinets and speakers. Not sure how this pedal would recreate that experience. Anyone have some Bandit IR’s? 😆

The Scorpion speaker is pretty dope. Sheffield was good too as I recall.

I didn't have one, so not sure "nostalgia" is applicable in my case. I wish they'd reissue the Rock Master 120w head. I'd have to get a Rocktron Rampage and/or Silver Dragon, and an ART 442 Dual 15 Band EQ to really lean into the nostalgia, as it was my first "real" rig.

I still have my Rockmaster preamp and Classic 50/50 power amp. Played a lot of bar gigs with that gear.
