PastFX Chorus Ensemble mn3007

How did the Hot For Flanger turn out? I’ve been kicking around the idea of getting one for the occasional VH cover. I almost pulled the trigger on the MXR RI a few times, but sometimes try to look for feedback on the PastFX model.
I have an original MXR-117 from the 70s with the big power cord - the PastFx nails it. Way better than the RI IMO.

Yeah the Dimension waza is where I think I will land? There is a Black Label chorus here locally but kind of feel like it isn't going to be the magic chorus bullet I hope it to be

Hahahha yeah, I don't get the idea Zakk is too particular about that stuff and certainly wasn't going for "let's make a really killer chorus pedal" but more "slap my name on that MXR Chorus" :rofl I just associate pretty much everything post-'99 with Zakk to be the 'meh tones"
I know Line 6 has said why, but it is still weird to me that the Helix stuff doesn't have any of these famous Yamaha rack FX sound in them considering the Yamaha connection. So many people are looking for those sounds; there have been multiple pedals based around emulating Soft Focus, and I bet they'd at least sell a lot of HX Ones based purely on having a model of that and Symphonic.

Seriously. I almost bought an SPX90 2 weeks ago but the guy said it had a noise issue, making it noisier than the normally are. I know it's a fairly involved effect just from @2112's discussion of it from recreating them in the Fractal, maybe the juice just hasn't been worth the squeeze in getting it to run authentically in a pedal format. I'd have to think with technology and these insane quantum computers they'd be able to stick an 80's rack unit into a pedal format by now, but I'm not a programmer!

Yeah, for real! And I mean, Yamaha reproduced it (more or less?) on plenty of cheaper gear over the years too. The Line 6 part is almost "painful" because they could potentially get direct access to the actual code if Yamaha greenlit the idea (assuming Yamaha has the code still).

At least there are some decent plugin emulations, but having it in pedal form would be great for guitar, synths, etc (it sounds great on synths, and it was somewhat famously used on samples a fair amount in early 00s hip hop)
