OMFG I need an SLO100 in my life

All I can say is you believe some things about certain brands of components that I do not. The stuff you listed for the C3 is mid grade. Nothing wrong with it but nothing better than what I have received in Ceriatone kits which are mostly not house brand, and their house brand filter caps and iron have actually been very good.

If you think a budget Jet City is in the same league as Soldano, BAD, C3 or Ceriatone, I don't know what to tell you. They were designed and built as entry level amps that get you close in sound at 10% of the price of an SLO. They are good for that, but don't belong in the conversation. I have played both, and it's like Squire Bullet vs Fender Custom Shop.
And the reality is that component quality assessment comes from whom?

Unless you actually built amps for a living chances are its internet lore regurgitated.

??? The C3 kit is half the cost of the BAD amp, and needs assembly. The Ceriatone is 1/4 the cost as a kit and 1/3 assembled. That's not creeping all that close and I would guess you would have a very hard time telling the three of them apart. None are made with magic capacitors and resistors or special ancient mojo. They are all modern build good quality but nothing special components, unless you believe orange colored capacitors have better tone than other colors. If these three options are not good enough, you need to get an old iron Soldano SLO.

The Jet City is 1/10th the cost for a reason, and most people can tell the difference. I find it very odd you would think Ceriatone is not a good value but the C3 and Jet City are.

If you can find a Ceriatone FAS100 going for the same price as a Jet City then it absolutely makes sense. I’d personally go for a (well built) C3 amp over a ceriatone if the price was the same. Ceriatone haven’t been making these long so there’s unlikely to be much on the used market, so your only real option is to buy direct. C3 and Jet City are way more available used.

Ceriatone’s FAS100 is the best part of £2000 here, plus shipping and taxes. Used SLO’s go for £2500 or so. Which makes most sense? Which will hold more value? Jet City 100’s go for £200 all the time, and often even cheaper (£150-200).

And regarding the components, I don’t believe in any magic. That’s why I think Jet City are just fine. You’re suggesting that they don’t matter EXCEPT for whatever Jet City use? They sound great and the build is OK, I’ve certainly seen (much) worse in other brands that charge a lot more.

How much are they charging for it? I've heard the mantra that the Raw Aristides line "sounds better" and they can be found in the $2000-3000 range
$3650. Pass on my end. Thought about spending the same and get some new furniture for the living room

Wheres Mythos place at? I'll add it to the list if I can. I'm betting GC guy was your dealer  Odd thing is this guy is originally from a microscopic town 30 minutes away from. Small world! The Suhr at CME I played a month or so ago was underwhelming as fuck. This one was the polar opposite :guiness
Not sure of the Mythos pedal company’s location but his new store is called High Voltage.

Tony the guy at the GC crack room is cool and is who I’ve dealt with a lot. He plays with several acts like Tom Keifer and few that are escaping me.

Yeah he looked 1000% like a rock guy. Unlike my bald, pasty, skinny-but-fat ass  :hugitout:cry::ROFLMAO:

He was chatting with a long hair guy about Metallica tickets when I walked in and dude turned out to be their post-Hetfield pyro accident pyro incident guy.

I don't do it for a living but I have been repairing, modding and building amps as a side hustle/hobby for 30 years.
Then you should know about xformers…and no matter what any clone does it’s not gonna be the same unless the use the same. Which they don’t
