Any one using the full, two channel Revivaldrive and have some stacking suggestions? Also, please state the context and genre you are mostly playing. For instance, I use mainly bridge humbuckers (two guitars have bridge single coils), as well as some middle single coils, and a mix of humbucker and single coil neck pickups. I also play 70s/80s rock and metal.

I am using the Revivaldrive as my preamp (running into a Fryette Power Station PS-2A), and curious about what people are using for a bit more gain. EQ, OD/Boost, Comp, etc. applicable if they are being used to add additional drive, compression, EQ, to the Revivaldrive. I have a number of options, but am curious what people out there are using as some guidance is appreciated. I could grab the large containers of pedals I have and just try out a bunch of them, but I have a feeling my girlfriend would not be pleased by the mess (and neither would I, frankly).

I no longer have it, but I had the full size Revival Drive Hot Rod for a little while. I used it as a preamp and ran it into a power amp or into a Cab M (and later HX Stomp) for headphones / DI. I usually had the valve rectifier side set on either a Fender type sound or on an Orange type sound, both set cleaner, and the solid state rectifier side set to a hot rod Plexi type sound.

I was playing a wide range of stuff, but was definitely doing like an 80s hard rock / metal thing sometimes. For that, I was using a Plumes and RAT as a boost. The Plumes I'd run at either Mode 2 (no clipping) or Mode 3 (vaguely the SD-1 style mode) with gain low and level high, doing that typical mid boost tightening thing. The RAT I'd use similarly, but usually with a little more clipping in the pedal itself. Nothing revolutionary, but both worked great for that style, and I think any tube screamer type pedal would too (I vote SD-1). Running a clean boost after the pedal was helpful for when I wanted more volume for leads too.

Really cool pedal and very fun to use. I ended up preferring digital modeling, but I think the RevivalDrive is just about the best solid state analog option I've heard for these sounds.

I have the regular and Hot Rod versions (both custom). The Hot Rod version is a little noisy, but other than that, I like both. I am just curious what others are using with regarding to getting a little more saturation out of the pedals.

Yeah, I found that it played best with EQ sculpting boosts like the RAT or a tube screamer type pedal. I experimented with louder, more flat boosts and it always ended up getting small. I also tried an EQ pedal with the lows cut as a boost, and that worked well, particularly with the Orange-esque setting.

(and yep, the Hot Rod is a bit noisy. At louder volumes through a power amp, I didn't mind it much because it felt like typical cranked amp noise, but at lower playback volumes it was a little annoying.)

That's good to know. The Plumes has a weird artifact in the sound, or I'd check that out. I have quite a few Rats. I should try a Fat Rat into one of my Revivaldrive pedals to see how it pairs. I should also see how I like it with the Bluesbreaker.
