Nothing else comes close to the Boss RV-5 Modulate mode

The Boss RV-5 Modulate mode is king.
I'll take your word for it...

Suspicious Futurama GIF

Never tried the pedal.

Clips? The mod on my Blue Sky v1 is probably my favorite at the moment as I can dial it in to get that perfect pad underneath my playing.

It may sound like it, but it won’t live as long. These have pretty bad build quality and many important parts (jacks etc) are prone to fail. I have a friend that loves a Behringer pedal to the extent he modded his pedal with top quality jacks, power and switching… which is kinda absurd… because he could just as well bought the original pedal.. but well… it’s pedal love. And even lousy Behringer pedals can be loved.

for SQ reasons not build quality
Is SQ like LSMFT?

You have to be old to know the allusion. And don't ask me why my brain went there when someone used a legitimate acronym. It's been a rough day fixing my pc after upgrading my linux desktop. That's my story and I'm stickin to it. :bag

Also, I assume SQ means sound quality.

I’ve got both the Boss & the Behringer but not a fan of either of them for SQ reasons not build quality.

I didn’t say that! How the hell did you manage to quote Dave in my name :rofl :bonk

I’ve had a couple of these plastic $25 Behringer clones. Yes they sound like the real thing but they’ve all fallen the fuck apart in short order :rofl

You’re way better off getting an Amazon special joyo/et all clone at that price point

Also, fuck Behringer despite the fact that I use and love their live sound stuff. Quite a conundrum lol

@Orvillain, amongst all the reverbs pedals you have now, how would you rate the BlueSky, particularly in comparison to Golden?

Code:
If you're looking for reference pedals - my 2 pennies...

- Strymon Blue Sky
- UA Golden
- Boss RV-5
- MXR Reverb
- Source Audio Ventris

Those are my favourites anyway.

My bandmate has a Blue Sky, and honestly, it sounds really good. I think it is better than the BigSky in many ways. It's thicker sounding and more in your face than the Golden, at general settings rather than extreme settings. The Golden is a bit smoother sounding overall.
