When you turn off the cab sim and run directly to a tube power amp, how do the models sound?
There was some special "mojo" in the GT1000 preamps that might transcend reality when played into a power amp that could make it sound muddy or over processed. I returned the GT before I had a chance to route it direct to an amp.
I used the GT100 for years, and the preamps were all over the map when used into an amp. Some of them were shrill and tiny. Others were big and wooly. Some of them were nasally. Every one required different eq settings to make them play well together, and once you had done that, they were essentially the same sounds.
