When you turn off the cab sim and run directly to a tube power amp, how do the models sound?

This is indeed the test...except you can run into a transparent SS power amp. If the power amp modeling is good, it'll come through.

I have the SY1000. Not the same fidelity amp modeling wise as the GT1000 but close enough I would say. Especially to the clips I have heard from the GX series. Very immediate sounding and sizzle. Still very flat sounding into my Fryette LX or my EVH Stealth. Not worth the effort, imo.
