Serious question though
What does FM0 look like is it just an FM3 with no switches?
Does it have a bigger display ?
Knobs underneath , how many ?
How much CPU , same as FM3 turbo ?
To me it should be physically smaller than the FM3, by about the amount of space the footswitches and their displays take. Rather than reinvent the wheel, Fractal would most likely keep everything else about it the same as the FM3.

Obviously all of us would take a FM9 in a smaller box, but realistically it would be FM3 sans footswitches. Put it on a desk or part of a pedalboard with your favorite other pedals and maybe a MIDI controller.

Yeah I think he could print money with a pedal division. (Fractal Timeline, Big Sky, Mobius, HX Effects, Iridium)

Certainly enough cheddar to develop the Fractal UA Plugin Super Audio InterfaceTM
I think a compact delay/reverb in one box unit from Fractal could be fantastic. Something capable of running Fractal reverbs and delay at the same time in series or parallel.

The combined delay/reverb unit options are surprisingly bad. The Source Audio Collider is still probably the best product in its category and it has a good number of inconveniences. Everything else seems various degrees of more limited - either no MIDI, no presets, no stereo etc.

FAS delay/verb would crush.

Defenitely. Especially as there's hardly any units coming in at any pedalboard-suitable form factors.
I have been looking around a lot and found myself getting an HX Stomp for these tasks - and there's barely nothing else on the market.

- Mooer Ocean Machine. Not bad, really - no global tap tempo, though (mission critical for me), not even allowing you to tap tempo with an external switch, so you need to longpress. And longpress for tap tempo = instand pass!

- TC Plethora. Exactly the same thing. The X3 doesn't even have an EXP input (are you kidding me, TC?) and you need to tap the tempo for each delay seperately, should you be using more than one in a patch. Too bad as their Mesh function kicks some serious ass.

- Zoom G3. I'm not kidding you, been using that before the Stomp. Allows for free block assignments, has global tap tempo and what not. Doesn't even sound bad (converter-wise). Has a permanently available looper. Unfortunately quite limited when it comes to switching options and FX algorithms.

By now I think the Ampero Stomp would do a decent job, too. But last I checked, latency was pretty bad. Apparently they adressed that somewhat, though.

Others than that, there's very little competition. And I think it makes a whole lot of sense to combine delays and reverbs in one pedal, as they kind of interact with each other quite a bit.

And well, as said before, I wouldn't mind an FAS-Amp, either. But it should come with a decent amount of knobs so I could directly edit the most relevant amp parameters instantly.

Now that my guitar and "FRFR" situation are all but closed out, I'd really like to try an Axe-FX. A Plexi, JCM800 and Blonde/Silver Bassman are the three amps I'd put in Archetype CakeEater, and are now conveniently probably best amps in the Helix too. I'm just really curious if their counterparts in the Axe are that bit better.

Getting rid of the switches cuts size in half, which is a big deal. It goes from mostly a standalone device that’s a tad awkward on a desktop to something about the size of a Stomp that is easy to fit into pedalboards, or custom combo configurations that some are want to make.

It’s 1/2 tye price of an axe fix III, and honestly has more than enough power for most folks (certainly for me). Tye fan only kicks on occasionally for me, where the Axe’s runs non stop.

The kicker is that MY experience with FM3 vs III is that, while my FM3 is an awesome device and worth every penny, I’ve also run into more problems with it during firmware updates and I have a lot more USB dropouts. Which isn’t a big deal, honestly - if I never touched the computer editor or updated firmware again, it’s STiLL a killer portable standalone rig and I’m more than happy enough with the handful of presets I’ve already built on the thing.

But for an FM0 to make sense as a more compact desktop device, it’d have to have rock-solid USB connection that never drops; seamless FW updating, and ideally be more like the Helix fam where there isn’t this slow drag of feature trickle-down from Rack to FM. Otherwise the cost difference between it and the III really starts to tip towards a III for desktop operation.

I’d buy something called “Archetype: Cake Eater”.
