Next Gen Fractal Speculation Thread

It's still a mess.
I don't know software, but I still liken it to a house that's been added onto a few times, and it just doesn't have any "flow." At some point, you need to just tear it down and start fresh.

But since I'm used to it, I still won't buy a new one, unless it's something absolutely crazy, that I haven't thought of, and can't live without (unlikely.)

I am considering dropping back to an FM3 just to be able to do everything on device again. Sounds dumb but I just don’t like using a mouse and keyboard to dial in guitar sounds.
This is huge for me, I just don’t like being forced to use my computer to play, it takes a lot out of the experience

As long as it has SPDIF which I’m assuming it would, then yeah it would also keep me from buying a stadium with my VP4 being so awesome.
We both know nothing anyone releases short of a nuclear bomb is going to stop you or most of us in this section of the forum from buying a stadium product.

If I have the expendable funds yes I’d buy both 💯 that depends entirely on how things are going for me when the time comes I guess, but then the stadium will be around for a long time so eventually yeah I’d succumb to the temptation 😂

Is there any reason to have 2 Separate modules instead of say a FM9 ?? If one has a VP4 I can see the use for folks who have amps, so I don't get why one would then add a VA4 ??

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No one serious was claiming Tonex was ever perfect. It was just very good except for high gain, with some other minor but known flaws.

Now it’s better, especially for high gain, but it still has room for improvement. No platform available today has perfect tones, and none have perfect UI and UX either. Things will keep getting better for many more years.

Cuz there's a wealth of pedals out there with their own flavors that aren't in Fractal gear and the modular aspect of them make them perfect for sticking on a pedalboard with additional pedals. Or for the guys who run an amp/VP4 but sometimes have to be silent, a VPA would be perfect.

And my FM9 board is 3' long and weighs about 25lbs, partly becuase it's 3/4" birch plywood, but there's a reason I want Cliff to donate an FM9 shell to us so we can smash other modelers with it in a display of physical brawn. :rofl

I'd also imagine there's going to be a group of users that will have one or the other and figure "Shit, I love this and it was pretty easy to figure out, I can grab the other one and have a whole rig without having to learn how to program a whole modeler"

The VP4 has all of the effects that the Axe III does, the FM9 does not? Correct me if I’m wrong. A “VA4” + a VP4 would in my eyes be a complete fractal setup with the ability to use one or the other or both. Plus for someone like me that has the VP4 already, it’s a no brainer to spend less than a grand on a VA4 that hopefully would have the same form factor/design and UI
