I was mighty tempted by an SAS, but the SHS is really what triggered all the excitement to drop that kind of coin to begin with. I’m a serious sucker for semi hollow PRS

Sent an email to AMS requesting a hold at FedEx location…. Having an SE dropped at my door while I’m at work is one thing (and was still terribly stressful) . HELLLLLL no for something like this surprised a signature isn’t automatically required after a certain price point tbh

Yeah, I’ve known about this for a while, due to my imaginary guitar shop. I can’t say I’m all that jazzed about it, but it seems like it’s a good guitar.

Looks like the same design as the bridge on my core custom 22. I was a little apprehensive about that at first but I haven't had any intonation issues

Not sure about that non-adjustable bridge though.

I love the PRS wraparound bridge. It intonates very well with a standard set of strings. They do have a pair of grub screws that push against the posts for intonation adjustment. They are no frills, feel great under the palm, and they sound great.

I've been tempted with the TB2 for sure. I have fallen in love with alnico 2 pickups over the last year...I have Burstbuckers in my 335, Wolfetone PAF's in my McCarty, an Andy Wood bridge pickup in my Kramer, and 85/15's in my CE-24. Only my S2 Standard which has SSV's has alnico 5. Maybe I'll order a couple pairs of A2 magnets and swap them in the Thornbucker set which has plus bridge, along with the SSV's. Could be interesting.

I think all TB pickups have slightly uneven coils like some PAF's did. The regular bridge was about 8.5k, plus about 8.8k, and the TB2 about 9.1k. So they keep winding them hotter. The TB2 looks really similar to the Duncan 78 which is a 9k alnico 2 overwound PAF. Makes sense as that was reportedly EVH's pickup spec that Duncan rewound, and Pete was messing around with all those EVH pickups when he had the prototype.

No that I haven't touched. I think an A2 would be nice in it but I don't like ripping apart nicer pickups like the Suhrs.

I did end up getting the TB2 and it actually doesn't seem as hot as the TB+. Not sure why. I found it a little stringy sounding and it seems like it would be better in HSS.

Would an alnico ii not be bassier in a neck pickup than alnico v? If you wanted less bass I'd try alnico iv or alnico iii.

every time i play a prs i enjoy it. i dont like looking at them, and a big part of it is the birds.

why wont they just make bone stock looking plain guitars that us guys who dont want humidor and furniture grade builds would rock? i want boring ass prs with grain filled mahogany in shit brown with dots, 2 p90s, and a wraparound bridge.

S2 line with Satin finishes have had a few guitars to scratch that itch minus the P90 part. I still want a charcoal satin vela because it looks like old furniture that’s been stripped of its sealer.
